It absolutely should. It works with mine. If your previous saves have mods, I can't be sure about that. Let me know if you have troubles loading one.

i made a completely new save no mods not even "rimthreaded" to see the difference so i spawned some npcs until it just started to lag then i enabled rimthreaded and nothing seemed to change i have a i7-8700 6 core

i also restarted the game when enabling rimthreaded of course
another thing it seems to have random crashes

So i just started playing with this mod no other mods except for this mod and Harmony and everything seemed to be fine until i hit 10th aprimay then the whole game went down to 1fps and only stopped when i paused when i then decided to move my pawns they whole game crashed with no error message and when i went to load the map again with the sames mods and the colony for my save is gone but the world map is still there i just wanted to say this to see if you've had this problem too

same thing happens here hope the devs themselves make multithreading possible because at the moment it seems broken

The main incompatibility, I think, is with Combat Extended specifically when they start shooting (ctd) . Otherwise i have pretty ok performance. My laptop is crap though so it might also be that. Tynan should learn a thing or two from you guys in terms of coding, cheers. :)

ah yes, CE (for as much acknowledged effort that n7huntsman puts into it), has always had compatibility problems even with regular mods, due to i believe an (all or nothing approach). in the sense that any weapon or item or something else, that uses a mechanic of ce, seems to need to be specifically coded for, rather than automatically allowing it to function (even if balance is not quite right)... but i can also understand why they did it that way.

cheers - i'll admit while i have made some mods like rimside recycling, this coding is major hoff, i just help here or there with pointing out bugs and things :)

16th october: researcher's notes:
"my research continues, despite an increase in howling outside the bunker, and scratching noises at the door.... 'become a genetic rim researcher today', they said... 'what could possibly go wrong', they said.... i'm beginning to think that we should not have released the latest creation loose in the wild..... only time will tell"... :o)


these are just observations (mostly from playing with a bunch of mods, and then adding more and more small batches to existing save, but some selective testing too) using mod version 1063.

note A) (in rimthreaded option info, it mentions some possible conflicts with Smart Medicine, FPS mod.. those mods were here, and have been temporarily removed for now to help track down some other errors, including Achtung which can force quit the game with Therapy).

Note B) most of the info below is about these mods working ok, or not causing any glaring issues so far, apart from Research (dubs mint menues+resarch tree mods), and haplo turretbase.
(but have included more info in case useful, based on my observations and testing so far - even with the above issues under some conditions, the mods are still playable).

Note C) at the end of the list and info below, ive included some error messages seen during these playthroughs, but am still trying to pinpoint causes.
if you happen to have any more info, (or happen to know that some of what ive mentioned below as a tbc (to be confirmed), actually does work in your game, please let me know too and i can update etc :)

(this used to be seen often in games, but its frequency is less in recent RT versions. Possibly related to below:

Virtual cores or Physical cores?
When it says "dependant on your cpu core count" does it mean your physical, installed cores or does it mean the physical AND virtual ones?

I'm asking because it makes a major difference in how many threads I can use (12 physical only vs. 22 with both)

I have a 4C/8T CPU and setting worker count to 7 seems about right to me. It will almost certainly be slower if worker thread count is set higher than your actual usable threads. But I recommend using TPS as a benchmark on a game that is loaded from a save and see what works best for you.
