This mod allows you to place shield generators. They are expensive and power hungry but can really strengthen your defenses. The standard shields will stop projectiles that try to enter it, but allow weapons to be fired out.


There are a number of different statistics that govern how Shield work.
Strength: How much Damage a shield can Take
Radius: How large the covered area is.
BlockIndirect: Can is Block Bullets and other directly fired Projectiles.
BlockDirect: Can it block Mortars and other Indirect Fire Weapons.
FireSupression: Can is extinguish fires.
DropPods: Can is target Drop Pods, frying their navigation and causing them to crash.

This is a Special type of Shield that specifically covers certain building instead of creating a large bubble.

Doesn't work in minify everything :(

Taken the power out, let it drain, uninstalled, then reinstalled, and the blue moving icon over the shield when it's on, stays where it was originally built. :(

But, suddenly in my save game the shield stopped working properly. The fortress shields made it so I could buy anything from any trade beacons below it as anything that landed would be destroyed and cause damage to my base. The standard shield also suddenly stopped working and blocked all outgoing shots by my turrets and colonists. Really odd as it has worked fine most of the game and I didn't activate any new mods."

Same thing is happening to me as well. Had no problem with traders even with a fortress shield up, now everything is getting destroyed.

There seems to be a hitbox issue with the small shield. There are four diagonal tiles adjacent to the generator. When a one-tile turret is placed on these diagonal corners, and is not firing directly outwards (the opposite direction of the generator), it will hit the shield instead. This is in contrast to all the other bubble shields, where anything firing from inside a shield at anything outside will never hit the shield itself (except splash damage attacks, I guess).

i can confirm this works for 1.0 already! shows red in the mod menue due to a wrong version number but the mod is usable and works! this is btw true for all mods that just add stuff without changing/relying on vanilla game files
