Almost 700 mods | Load Order Included | Latest update : May 18 2025 | Changelog

This is a merge of two of the best mod collections for Kenshi:

The UWE/Kaizo modpack by Anrhaa

The Lore Friendly Role-Playing Experience v1.9.6 by Dr Igor Dolvich

Even most of this presentation is a copy-paste from the UWE/Kaizo modpack page , these guys did all the hard work, I just followed the instructions they so nicely set up to merge these two modlist without redundant mods. A few mods were removed because they didn't fit the basic idea of Kenshi and some others were added, check the features list below.

This is the modlist I personnaly play with and I consider it the ultimate Lore-Friendly Kenshi experience, but that is up to you to decide!

Follow the "performance" part of UWE/Kaizo first to get and install the essential mods not found on the workshop.
(copy/pasted just below this for ease of use, but might be removed if requested by its original author, go check the original before the stitched up copy you have here ;) )

I would also advise to copy the UWE , Kaizo , Great Frontiers and Ultimate Cities Towns Merged mods from the workshop directly into your "mods" folder in your Kenshi installation directory, just to get even more performance!
To do this easily, right click on these mods in the Moloader, "Open mod folder", copy everything, create a folder with that mod name in Kenshi/Mods, and paste it all.

As an added note, this collection has only been tested with the game set in English. Other languages may have issues, or maybe not, I simply don't know.

To use the Load order in the discussion tab, copy and paste it in an empty text file, and change its extension from .txt to .cfg.
Then you can use this Modloader [github.com] to change your modlist easily.
Click "Load Mod profile" at the bottom , choose your modlist .cfg , click "Save Mod Order" at the top left, then launch your game.
You don't have to use the modloader each time. Once you have setup the correct modlist, you can launch Kenshi through Steam and it should keep your load order.

Performance

To assure that everything is working as good as possible. Install the following tools from Nexus. You’d get a huge performance and stability boost. Even if you don’t want the full collection, these are a must for pretty much any playthrough.

Follow their installation instructions carefully:

Optimization for Nvidia GPU in Kenshi [www.nexusmods.com]: SCARaw’s work. Dude is a tech wizard. High FPS, no impact at aesthetics and reduced loading times. Disregard this mod if you have an AMD GPU

Kenshi CTD fix patch [www.nexusmods.com]: All CTD related to animations fixed! This mod adds the "-KCF autogenerated patch-" .mod the MUST be always load last. Mandatory.

RE_Kenshi [www.nexusmods.com]: Adds improvements to Kenshi that can't be achieved through traditional mod tools, plus fix bugs in Kenshi's RNG, change number of attack slots in-game, heightmap compression (significantly reduces load time on HDDs). This one is HEAVILY recommended.

Particle System Override (PSO) [www.nexusmods.com]: SCARaw’s work again. Mod changes rendering method for ALL particles in Kenshi and SPEEDS UP the game substantially in the process! NO, mod is not reducing particle effects nor compressing textures.

Kenshi Performance Fix [www.nexusmods.com]: SCARaw’s work one more time. This mod is a collection of solutions designed to improve the game in the form of one complex mod. It contains solutions similar to Mesh Updater with stronger code, Repairs broken shader files left in the game and scan all game files converting possible textures to a Faster Format without lose of visuals and changes all references to said textures to ensure compatibility of the game with the changes. AKA game runs way better now.


Nexus Mods Additions

Not all mods part of this collections are from Steam. The following mods are from Nexus and need manual installation. Trust me, they’re worth the extra work. Follow their installation instructions carefully:

Smooth Interiors and Int Windows [www.nexusmods.com]: Smooth's building Interiors and adds glass Window panels, all for a more Immersive QoL experience.

Nice Textures Collection (without map and ui) [www.nexusmods.com]: SCARaw’s collection of texture mods from various Authors optimized for efficient load when preserving their high quality, with as little effect on performance as possible, all textures are custom made.

Shader SSAO [www.nexusmods.com]: As the name implies, this is an added Screen Space Ambient Occlusion shader.

Features and differences with the original collections :

- New armors, weapons and items
- New buildings
- New lighting
- New researches, you can even stitch organic limbs from different species to yourself, be your own Dr Frankenstein!
- New factions and relations, agressive animals should be aggressive toward everyone now
- Rebalanced damage and blood loss. Treat your wounds and especially lost limbs quickly

Removing the Cell-shading effect :

Here are my settings for the configuration of the Native Stylise mod, found under the "Graphics" tab in the in-game options, to have a Vanilla-like graphic experience with a few improvements:

Removing nudity :

I consider nudity as part of a lore-friendly experience. It might be a shock to you, but that is what happens when someone removes all their clothes...
Anyway, if your really want to have a Safe For Work environment, you can follow those instructions , courtesy of Anrhaa .

I did include my own Stitched together UI that includes several UI mods, feel free to remove it and replace it with your favorite one if you don't like it, same thing for the in-game map.
