Report a translation problem
Still not sure how the old egg was causing the issue. With the original mod the vanilla egg could still spawn, but it could not be cooked, only sold. The original mod added a cookable egg to the nest loot, but that nest loot table applies to all nests.
My patch doesn't do a lot, it removes references to the vanilla egg so it cannot spawn anymore anywhere, but should still be lootable and sold if it exists, as the item itself was never modified. My patch modifies the BeakThingEggFoods new egg's value and weight, puts it on its own loot table, and assigns that loot table to beak thing nests.

Hopefully this was a little insightful for when you were trying to fix the mod.
If it works now though, yay.
I noted the price difference when I was testing before, I'll look into it. I had them set to the same value, but value multipliers in this game confuse me.
Their new egg is just a functional food item that can be used in recipes while the old egg is nest debris that can only be sold to vendors
