UWE - Belt Slot Hats and Masks

In 1 collection by Anrhaa
MEGA Kaizo/UWE+ Modpack (2025)
635 items
Description
Summary:
Belt Slot version for (almost) all Universal Wasteland Expansion's Headgear. Yes, (almost) all of them. Yes, that's (almost) 300+ hats and masks.
Total: 273 hats and masks.

Main Features:
  • Belt Slot versions of all vanilla and UWE's headgear, except: Hive Helmets, Tribe Helmets, Tropy Helmets and Unique Helmets.
  • Properly distributed blueprints across the world! You can get them from the same place with the same chance you can get their regular version.Yes. I manually set the spawn rate of every new item according to their counterpart. Yes, it took a lot of time to do.
  • Fixed some naming inconsistencies.
  • Made several vanilla and UWE’s gear craftable.
  • Removed all individual blueprints from armors unlocked by 'Advanced Clothing Types (Padded)', 'Advanced Clothing Types (Reinforced)' and 'Advanced Clothing Types (Sneaky Chain)'; except from IT, HNO, Holy, and UC clothes/armor shops. That way there'd still be a way to get the blueprints if you somehow don't want to do the research.
  • Removed all individual blueprints from headgear unlocked by 'Hats and Headgear' research. They were still available to buy as individual blueprints. It's fixed now.
  • Buglanders and Cannibals can use all human exclusive headgears.

Fixes:
  • Moved the padded and reinforced version of several headgear to their correct research.
  • Some pieces of the 'Untarnished Gusoku' Armor Set weren't craftable. Now they can be properly crafted at the 'Heavy Armour Smithy'.
  • Set the [ND] name tag for all Narko’s Disciples items.

Availability/Craftability Tweaks:
  • 'Ashlander Acidgoggles' is now craftable at the 'Leather Armor Crafting Bench'. You can get its blueprint from the same place 'Ashlander Stormgoogles' are.
  • 'Black bandana' and 'Red bandana' added to 'Hats and Headgear' research. Removed blueprints from everywhere.
  • 'Bucket Zukin' and the blueprint for all its versions are buyable at the same place you can get that helmet.
  • 'Bullskull' is now craftable at the 'Leather Armor Crafting Bench'. You can get its blueprint from the same place 'Barbarian Helmets' are.
  • 'Cannibal Bucket Helmet' added to 'Cannibal Helmets' research. Upped research cost to 16, from 8 to balance it.
  • 'Cap (green)' and the belt item version are added to 'Hats and Headgear' research.
  • All ND gear is now craftable. ND Vendor now sell armour blueprints for all their faction exclusive armors.
  • 'Lost Empire Helm' and their versions are now craftable at the 'Heavy Armour Smithy'. You can buy the blueprint at Dominium Armor Shops.
  • 'Mask Type IV' and their versions are now craftable at the 'Heavy Armour Smithy'. You can buy the blueprint at the same place 'Mask Type III'.
  • All missing cannibal armors (except Grand Wizard Set) added to 'Cannibal Plate Armor' research. Upped research cost to 32, from 16 to balance it.
  • All missing Shrieking armors added to their respective research (Foolish, Foot, Moaning, Red, Screeching, Wise and Yellow). Upped research cost to balance it.
  • ‘Dark Leather Shirt (colored)’ is now craftable at the 'Leather Armor Crafting Bench'. You can get its blueprint from the same place 'Dark Leather Shirt’ are.
  • NEW ARMOR BLUEPRINT: 'Ancient Samurai'. It let you craft the 'Ancient Samurai' set. Armour King sells it.
  • NEW ARMOR BLUEPRINT: 'Skeleton Masks'. It let you craft the 'Skeleton Mask'. Elder has it. You decide how to get it.

Renamed items:
Mainly done to fix some inconsistencies and help to sort better some armours.

  • 'Blackened Chainmail Tagelmust' to 'Chainmail Tagelmust (blackened)'.

@|_| Clyax. Do as you want. If I ever do my own vanilla version, it'd be later this year.

@Anrhaa So am I free to tell people on WYHWE to check out this mod and compare it to WYHWE in FCS to find out the problem, or would you be putting up your own mod for vanilla Belt Slot Hats and Masks, or what would you want to do?

@|_| Clyax. Thanks for the head ups dude :D

@Anrhaa Hello. Just sending a message after the last one to make sure you saw it. If you'd rather not get involved, that's fine. I just wanted to make sure if I could find a way to tell others that the Belt Slot issue with WYHWE seems to be different than what we thought. I didn't want to just start telling people "you solved it" and draw attention to you without you wanting that.

Found it. Turns out I could just use the Shinobi Trader in The Hub. I found your Belt variant of the Swamp Mask, and there's no penalty there. This is huge! People were racking their brains over the invisible math messing up Belt Slot items. If what you say is true and you did literally nothing except what you said, then that may mean the original developer made a mistake.

Would you please post a mod with just the vanilla belt models for people to enjoy, and would you do that with an NCE mod? It would help hundreds or thousands of others who don't use UWE enjoy these. I want to play some other runs I had in mind before moving to UWE.

@Anrhaa Looks the same as the vanilla and the WYHWE hats, though that's what WYHWE looked like too before I found those debuffs labeled in the pop-up menus in-game. I'll try them in-game. Do you know a start that puts me near a store that's guaranteed to sell hats?

@|_| Clyax. At FCS, Duplicate Item, Reduce Size to 2x2, change slot from head to belt. Nothing more, nothing less. Everything looks normal. Did you test it?
|_| Clyax May 29, 2024 @ 2:28am
@Anrhaa How did you do it? Unless the Wear Your Hats With Everything mod creator made a mistake, this is a fundamental problem. If you solved it, you would make a lot of people very happy. I see you made the NCE path for WYHWE, so you know about the mod. How did you get around this problem. Did you do anything about it? I presume you didn't fiddle with the stats of each item to offset the belt slot modifier, right?
Anrhaa  [author] May 28, 2024 @ 3:17pm
@|_| Clyax. They look pretty normal for me. Never checked if they have a stealth multiplier
|_| Clyax May 28, 2024 @ 4:32am
@Anrhaa I asked because even if you duplicated the stats, how they show up in-game is different because of how the Belt Slot modifies the stats of items in the invisible back-end of the code. Do all of your items show up as vanilla stats in the Belt Slot? No Stealth Multiplier penalty or anything? I'm not able to test this myself at the moment.
