Child Mod Overhaul

Description
The original Child Mod by Lawh is a great mod for immersion and roleplaying. But there are many elements that are missing, unbalanced, and/or unnecessary. This mod aims to address most of those issues while staying lore accurate and vanilla friendly.

What this mod does in summary:
- Added 2 other missing hive child subraces; the Soldier and the Prince.
- Added Deadhive/Fogmen and Southern Hive children.
- Rewritten the recruitment dialogue for homeless children.
- Rebalanced stats bonuses and penalties for all children.
- Added more child NPCs in different places.
- Removed Pablo and other non-vanilla stuff.

Check out the discussions tab to see full changelogs.

Load order:
1. (Anim patches)
2. Children.mod
3. Children Overhaul.mod
4. (Other Related Patches)

Notes:
- Requires Import.
- Story related contents are left intact.
- Possibly NOT compatible with UWE/Kaizo/etc. (Testing needed)
- This is NOT a standalone and requires the original mod.
- Let me know if you have any suggestions, bugs, and issues.

Cheers!

In my recent playthrough I managed to save two kids from the starving bandits and I accidentaly recruited them. They kinda slow down my caravan. Ehmmm... we need some kind of orphanage otherwise someone (not me) will continue "donating" kids... to the slavers... for their own... good (?)

SPOILER: Follow the road southeast from Shark to the edge of the Swamp and look for a 3 story shack next to a giant iron ring with guards outside.

I found a boy in port south, i talk with him, and i see an option "did you see a girl", "yes", "she is my daughter".
"What the fuck" did i think, and go search my doughter. Where i can found it?

DrWoggle - Sorry for the late response, I've been away from Kenshi modding for awhile. Yes, the Dust-Boys dialogue are intentional, I wanted to make children a bit more difficult to recruit in general. It was too easy before.

As for the cannibal child, they're basically just there for world-building, not exactly recruitable. And the lack of child for the endgame factions such as Reavers, Skeleton Bandits, etc. It simply 'cause (in my head canon) they already got killed, ran away, or the factions have no interest with child soldiers in the first place.

P.S. Fuli is not my creation, credit goes to Lawh for the original story content. I only add/rebalance stuff he made.

and another thing: in the original mod Dust-Boys had a talk-option so that they would join you. with this mod they just have the want-to-fight-dialouge, like some rare regular Dust-Bandits. is the join-me dialouge deleted or does it depend on reputation? (idk cus i just managed to go up to -1...)

i didn't come to meet cannibals with this playthrough yet. are cannibal kids recuitable? if not: wouldnt it be a nice adaption for some new story elements? you know? like: "Me p'rents 'bandond me 'cuz I only eat an'mal meat... Me no likes eatin' pe'ple..."
anyway: many (endgame) fractions still lack kids. good thing: drone kids are more common (0% ophrans in the original mod, very rare at slave markets, now it's better)

thank you!
Btw: Fuli is really cool & worth more than the 700c he offers.
anyway, i like this mod. good job.

He's the kid from Letter from a Swamper 2, check the Dancing Skeleton and buy that letter from the barman.
