Silent Hill 2 was one of the most life changing games for me, and this remake is everything the original was, but better. The story might be one of the most depressing and haunting experiences, but its also one where, for nearly the first time in gaming, a protagonist is depicted as human through and through. James journey with his guilt and acceptance is truly one of a kind.

The original had its uncanny feeling due to its technical limitations, but the remake has its own atmosphere. I must say, its a better depiction of James and the entire story. If youre experiencing it for the first time, I argue the remake is the superior way to do so.

The graphics are beautiful, the soundtrack haunting, and the pacing is perfectly executed. I really hope Bloober can continue making more remakes like this, because its the best Remake Ive played since Resident Evil 2. While it stays nearly identical to the original, it does have a few changes here and there, but all of them are for the better. Also, phenomenal voice acting and the depiction of trauma I cant comprehend how the voice actors, especially James voice actor, could deliver such an insane performance.



I honestly cant say anything negative about this game. Its pure perfection, and I think everyone should play this absolutely life changing masterpiece.
