Will the combat be bad like the first game?

The first game probably has the worst melee combat I've ever seen in a video game. I bought it during release and it took 10 minutes to down that first person in a fist fight. Melee opponents just don't die at all because they just parry or kneebutt you. Whenever I try to parry or counter, it doesn't work because my character's stamina goes to zero after every parry. Went for a full refund. Have the developers learned from The Witcher 3 which has better melee gameplay? Otherwise I'll just wait for the gam...
