A Hideo Kojima Game




At certain times in our lives there are things that make a lasting impression on us, sometimes a person, sometimes an event, sometimes a book, sometimes a movie, and sometimes a Hideo Kojima game. Because the first story game I played in my life was Metal Gear Solid 1, the reason why I keep Hideo Kojima games apart from all other games. The game and MGS universe were so beautiful that I was amazed and mesmerized by the series and the metal gear universe. Over the years, the events in the metal gear universe, the general philosophy of the characters and the games guided my character. For this reason, each game made by Hideo Kojima was more a work of art for me than a game. Regarding the review of the game, although I want it to be an objective review, my admiration for Hideo Kojima can prevent this. The titles I will review are the following, its story, gameplay, and graphics.

The Story
First of all, I am a Literature student who read a lot of books and also wrote his own short stories. In this context, the depth of the story and the way it is told is really important to me. As I said before, since Hideo Kojima was the creator of the first story game I finished in my life, every game he did not write always feels very flat and classic to me. Having finished hundreds of games, I can definitely say that. It really felt great to experience a play written and directed by Hideo Kojima after a long hiatus. The story is understandable, the story has a structure that does not bore people, but rather attracts people. The fact that you have an element that you can anticipate and surprise a lot of as a result is tied to the story. When the game is over, you don't have any question marks or a place you wish it was like that. Hideo Kojima does his job so well that every game he writes gives you really important messages.

“In Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater,
The main theme is SCENE (as opposed to 'scenario'). The Boss is the major illustrator of this theme, that everything is not absolute or eternal and that everything changes along with the times. The Boss said that by the 21st century America and Russia will no longer be enemies. All of the major characters are affected by scene. EVA falls in love only to cause heartbreak, Nikolai Stephanovich Sokolov is forced to build a weapon which nearly got him killed and Colonel Volgin is consumed by power which leads to his death. Naked Snake is forced to kill The Boss in a scene he cannot control. By the end of the game, Snake's perspective changed completely due to the nature of Operation Snake Eater.”





“Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
In Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, the main theme is SENSE, as in someone's understanding of the world that is lost when they die. Throughout the Japanese version, the word "will" is supertitled as "SENSE." However, this is translated simply as "will" in the English version. This theme is prominent throughout the game, from Snake's attempt to understand Naomi's intentions to the misguided attempt of Zero to follow The Boss's will, and JD to follow his. In all of these cases, the individual's original intent and sense of the world is questioned and unclear and seemingly is deliberately left for the audience to answer.”
As seen in the examples, each Hideo Kojima game actually carries a message in itself. To me, the main message of Death Stranding is to say that the more people learn to live together and begin to respect each other, then we will be strong, that boundaries and distinctions only leave us weak and vulnerable.
To summarize, definitely the strongest part of this game is its story, it really has the best story game I've played in the last 10 years or even after mgs 4. 10/10

If you ask me, it is one of the biggest successes of his game production career that Kojima was able to present this boring-looking action as such a good experience with Death Stranding, which is generally defined as the postal simulator and does not offer much variety in terms of gameplay.

The Ideology of the Game Is Embroidered
As the game progresses, places are connected to networks and you bring real-time things that other players do in their own world to your own world and collaborate with those people. In Soulsborne, you can find the notes of other players around, you can think of it as a mechanic that has been taken a few steps forward and directly affects the gameplay. this. You are alone in the game world, but you are not exactly alone. For example, you can find a bridge built by another player on a river that you have to cross. Or, you may find that a highway in which you are transporting half of your materials is completed when you enter the game the next day.

I can't think of a more coherent mechanic for a game where bonding is at the center, and I can't help saying "health to mind Kojima". In short, this mechanic is another factor that colors and facilitates your traveling experience.
Note: If you're not used to the metal gear universe, the game's storytelling and cutscenes may seem too long for you.





Not an Action Game

So I strongly claim that these boring-looking parts of the game are not like that. But I have to say that the opposite, the action parts that seem exciting, on the contrary, stutter. We have two categories of enemies: Loaders and KVs.

Loaders are the human bandits you know. There are large and small camps around, you can get stolen cargo and many resources from these camps. Although not in an MGS setting, your options are huge. For example, you can go sneak off, faint 1-2 people from behind, take what you get and feather. Or diving head to head is also an option. You can set traps or if you want. You can also resort to your weapons; You have a choice of pistols, rifles, rocket launchers, grenades and so on and they are all very enjoyable to use. However, the problem is that; you don't have to use any of them. It's easy to clean the whole base with a straight kick punch. Come on, just use a stun gun to make it more comfortable, that's enough. None of those offered facilities are required. That's why these Loader wars become really boring after pressing 1-2 bases, if you don't need much resources, you just go. They do not have variety, their reasons and how they are explained in depth in the in-game menus, but they do not have a character or development. I will make a comment about various mounts and various short-lived insects, now it will be out of place.
To summarize, I cannot say that it is very fun as it is a new genre in terms of gameplay, it can really overwhelm you when it comes to it. But I can say that the story and the effect of the gameplay on the story save this situation. 10/8



The Graphics

In summary, we can say that Death Stranding game is a simulation of shipping and life with great graphic details. Its graphics really impress you.I can't find anything to say because the graphics in games are always in the forefront for me. 10/10

As a result, Deat Stranding is a successful game, but we can say that it is one step away from being a classic Metal Gear Solid game. The game contains many different dynamics and a different functioning. Frankly, I think Kojima should be congratulated even for this different trial and courage. We can also say that the process of uniformity and these different dynamics have been the biggest obstacle in front of the game. In short, I can say that Death Stranding is not the point to go, but a game that every player who enjoys the journey and who is looking for a different adventure should try but adjust their expectations to that extent.
