Of course Dying Light 1 will always be better, but that doesn't make this game bad. Even though the campaign wasn't that great and it was definitely a little cheesy at some points, i enjoyed it. The game play and art direction is this game's strongest point for sure. the parkour is very smooth and fun. Especially when the music kicks in and your just jumping around admiring the map. Combat is satisfying and fun and there are tons of weapons to use. There is also tons of replay value with the additional leveling system and many side quests. ANYWAYS, IF YOU ARE A NORMAL PERSON AND DON'T SIT THERE COMPARING THE TWO GAMES THE WHOLE TIME, YOU WILL PROBABLY ENJOY THIS GAME

Dying Light 2 is great but very floaty and inconsistent in how it portrays decline of civilization. If youre looking for dying light one in a new engine youd be close to getting it but my grievances are
-floaty
-grapple isnt the same as from dl1
-no weapon repair
-easier nights
-majority of quests are fetch quests with lack of insentive other than reward

despite all of this i still recommend this as after going back to dl1. I miss the buggy and grappling hook and the lack of guns and other mechanics makes it feel like a downgrade however i can still see the remnants of the former game shine through in the dlc where it pays homage (albeit kinda lazy and cheesy). If you like any of
-zombie survival with mainly physical weapons
-parkour
-a good selection of weapon mods
-crafting weapons (similar to dl1 but not as great)
-hang glider (which imo is really great)
-dark zones where you can find higher level zombies during the day but at night its easier as the high level zombies roam the streets
-Chases now make the zombies feel like a controlled faction who can work together
-Choices that kind of matter to story progression
and more i cannot think of in my sleep addled state. some of these positives may seem negative and they are since dying light 2 is not the game that dl1 was but as its own game its a parkour focused zombie survival game that has a handful of unique npcs that make you wish to meet them outside the safe zone and kill them to take their stuff but that wouldnt matter since some enemy weapons do not drop and the spear can only be thrown by you but enemies can use it as a weapon. Rant over. Game fine but not the best it can be. 7/10 if dl1 was a 10/10
