64bit Version Please

So my heavily modded games dont crash after 10 minutes of playtime hitting the memory usage cap.

Not sure well see that for a long time, game would have to be rebuilt.

I don't see how that could ever be an issue. I have 183 mods and can play the game for hours straight and it never goes above 2gb. I don't think 64bit would help at all, I just think some people are running into memory leaks (or other memory related crashes) with certain mods or combinations of mods.

agree with this.

That said if you really "gotta have it", play with the Linux version. It is 64 bit only.

1, i dont think youre using 183 mods, judging by your Skyrim screenshots as well im going to guess that number is a ♥♥♥♥ size compensation. 2, its proven on windows memory caps are hit fairly easily, especially if you visit the map and use 100% world coverage. i only had about 63 mods, id say about a third were decently large and/or script heavy. thanks for the Linux statement though, didnt know there was a 64 bit only version.

oom issues are an issue for heavily modded games
having 64bit or better use of treads would open up a lot of options for bigger mods and mod packs

Yes, by saying I am using 183 mods I am really just compensating for my small penis. Thank you for calling me out on that, I feel so much better now.

Dafuq does Skyrim have to do with this? Yes it's a game that be modded, but y'know, apples and oranges.

Skyrim has alot to do with it because you can make skyrim playable with 183 mods+ with some good tweaking. i wouldnt say thats 183 mods either. theres alot of addons for the same mod or patches, or things that do remotely the same thing. also, even if somehow none of those conflict, you still must not get very far in the game, or use the world map much. or youd definitely get crashes from memory cap. i used max tilesets for my build area and i filled about 2/3s of it. not only that but i had about 15+ colonists for most of the time. its not really fun spending hundreds of hours amassing an amazing detailed base only for it to crash every 10 minutes because you try to check up on something on the world map. if i counted all my addons and patches id be closer to 100 as well.

okay and your opinion is no longer valid lol Rimworld has mods, Skyrim has mods, similarities are that you can mod them, to the degree of which is vastly different due to the number of utilities you can use to your advantage in creating memory allocated to the game. Skyrim has plenty, Rimworld, uhhh i think it has a 4gb memory patch somewhere on the internet.

You know lots of games have mods right? Skyrim isn't the same as Rimworld just because it has mods. That's like saying Battlefield is the same as Forza because you can drive in both.

I only have one Skyrim screenshot uploaded, and it shows very little about the extent to which I mod the game. His comment was almost certainly about the content of that screenshot, a personal jab at me off some baseless conclusion that says more about him than me.

I wouldn't bother trying to argue with him. I tried to be helpful and explain that it's currently possible to play the game without any issues right now using compatible mods that aren't broken, but if he wants to wait for a magic cure that's never going to happen, let him. The game is in beta now, the chances of a 64bit version of the game with full multi-threading is basically 0 at this point, we have to learn to make what we have work. Skyrim was also 32bit, and actually did have memory issues with a lot of mods, because those mods could be over 1gb in size and added tons of HQ textures and models, yet some people still hit the ESP cap and kept the game stable. If he thinks a few mods that are between 10kb and 5mb are causing him to hit the 4gb memory cap in Rimworld, let him.
