An extraordinary experience that really exceeded my high expectations based on recommendations from friends. The visuals strike an aesthetic similar that to of the games from Klei Interactive in a way that makes it its own without being carbon copy of the style. I played on an ultra-wide monitor and the visual style alongside the extra screen space made for a really immersive and gorgeous experience.

What sets this game apart form others in the genre is for sure the cult management system in place that keeps ticking as you clear through crusades. Upcoming updates on the road-map state an increase in depth to the systems for cultist personality and management. It is not overly complex a it stands and does not involve a great deal of micromanagement but is charming and has a rewarding loop of managing faith and loyalty among members. The recent expansion to end-game content as well provides an enjoyable grind in the form of purgatory, and its challenge mode runs.

Overall I would recommend the game to anyone that is even slightly interested in the aesthetic and is also receptive to the roguelite gameplay loop of crusades. If you are hoping for a deep complex management system for the cult itself, however, you may find yourself disappointed in that aspect. As a total package, the game is incredibly charming and a solid 8-8.5/10 and had me interested and not hoping it would be over sooner in my 24 hours to 100% the game.
