Why is this game not more popular? It looks great, it plays well, the guns are satisfying, the characters are engaging and I was interested in what happened to them. If I'm trying, I guess the main story wasn't that engaging and the quest system means a lot of to-ing and fro-ing but the world is so good to look at and ride around - if it wasn't for the freaks interrupting me I could take a lot more in.

Once you've completed the main game, the challenges are great fun - incredibly hectic and I wish I had a second to think before an entire horde got thrown at me but it's worth trying all of them at least once. Then there is NG+ with extra unlocks to get and a chance to re-live the whole game once more. There really isn't much to complain about and I'm still puzzled as to why this didn't get better reviews when first released on PS? There is something about Days Gone that reminds me of Shadow of Mordor, very different gameplay but there is just a general submersive feel to the game that reminds me of it. I really enjoyed this, it was fun from start to finish and I wish they made a sequel (but go get the DLC now and we might see a sequel).
