Silent Hill 2 Remake is a frickin masterpiece, the art direction, the story, the over-the-shoulder cam, the environment, the ost, the monsters, the combat, the weapon impacts, the ambience and the facial expressions everything is perfect, everything is special, something that most modern games or remakes fail to achieve cus they are either woke-ified or just a means to milk the franchise, which certainly was not the case with this game(my personal opinion) and the efforts went into making this masterpiece can be seen as you play through it. This game is literally a time capsule to the time and age when we humans peaked as a society. I was never really keen about the silent hill games until I saw the trailer of Silent Hill 2 Remake(that too 6 months before its release, before that I didn't even know that there was a remake on the way) and I liked it so much that I instantly wishlisted it. Initially with all the criticism going on around in the forums regarding the game being overpriced and the optimization issues, I felt a bit skeptic towards making the purchase on release but I got it anyway and gave it a shot and believe me it was worth it, things are over-exaggerated by these sellouts on social media, the game ran beautifully and didn't crash once on my PC, and the pricing well its subjective but I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys great story telling and ost.

This defo is my very own game of the year 2024 and the fact that the OG Silent Hill 2 was released in Japan on the exact day I was born just makes this game truly special for me. I'm looking forward to replaying it atleast once every year, maybe on my birthday.
