Königsberg in Preussen

The Original: 1255 the knights of the german order build a castle on the banks of the pregel-river in the pegan region of pruzzia. Around this castle evolved the later city of Koenigsberg.
1701 the city saw the first crowning of a prussian king and became the political and cultural center of east-prussia. The philosopher Immanuel Kant lived there; his grave can still be visited in the ancient cathedral. 1939 the city had nearly 350k inhabitans. In august 1944 the royal airforce destroyed much of the inner city. The nearly complete destruction happend during the ground-fights against the soviet red-army. After conquering the city the soviets killed or expelled the remaining inhabitants, renamed the city in kaliningrad and populated it with russians from all corners oft the soviet union. In contrast to most other destroyed cities the old part of the city was completly torn down and even the street-grid in the inner city was changed. There were some plans to rebuild the castle and the old town but it gets more and more unlikely.

The Skyline City: This is not a 1to1 copy of the historical Koenigsberg. I just tried to make the street- and railway-grid in the city appear as they were before the destruction. The highways are roughly as the today russian expressways. I used the kaliningrad-map of romanychda, but the scale was to small form my taste, so I changed everything from the middle towards the outskirts of the city. I tried to make the residential destricts and the most important buildings look as near to their historical appearance as possible, but much is still fictious. So please be kind to my when you miss a street or a building. The industrial destricts, the parks, the airport and the campus-areas are only located in their historical location, but would not function properly whitout optical modifications. The city has as much inhabitans as the original before the war, but there is still room and demand for further development.
I will upload an earlier version which is limited to the development within the old fortress-ring and you had to develop the outer parts by yourself.

Mods and Assets: I used a lot of those and will/can not list them all. Please subscribe to them after you downloaded the save game. So far I have no conflictes.
