New feature: Optimize thumbnails (in mod options, enabled by default)
  • optimizes the memory usage of asset thumbnail and tooltip textures
  • this option saves about 1.5GB of memory for each 1000 assets
  • also speeds up custom asset loading
  • if you use the Find It! mod you'll see less memory saved because Find It creates some textures.

This mod displays information on the loading screen and adds new options:
  • Load used assets: automatically loads the assets that are used in your city, no matter if they are enabled or not.
  • Share textures / materials / meshes: Assets from the same author often contain the same resources but the game does not care and loads identical copies. These options replace such copies by references, saving RAM.
  • Prefab skipping: you can skip vanilla buildings, vehicles and props to save RAM. Read here.
  • The mod contains an optimized custom asset loader that is significantly faster than the built-in loader.
  • Optional HTML reports (Assets Report & Assets Browser) are also available.

@Del Trotter Preorder Pack is part of this game. It is relatively small and does not take gigabytes.

@Boris It's not a hang-up really. During those minutes, the computer is not idling but working to initialize the city terrain, which requires RAM allocations. If almost no RAM is available, page file activity is continuous (disk working all the time although all loading has already completed).

The mod cannot update the timer or the loading screen texts because the terrain update code does not yield even once. If your city is complex and your computer is struggling a lot, this can take tens of minutes.

this has loaded pre order pack which show's in picture at top adding ruthly 1.5 2gb ram extra i don't know what the pre order pack is thank's

@Boris The delay shouldn't be related to mods, although I play with over 120, so maybe it's part of it...but I doubt it.

@LemonsterOG Weird, because I could have sworn it didn’t do this until recently. It would just load shortly after the bar is done. I’ve added so many mods in the last few days so it’s proving impossible to pin down.

@Boris It's always done that as far as I know. It's obviously doing something in the background, but I have no idea what it is.
