Max Gentlemen Sexy Business!

OMG! Business tycoon game play, hard core strategy, time and resource management, hentai (X-rated, if desired), visual novel love affairs (a harem of mixed gender and a few dubious characters) and a man who looks like Saxton Hale (Team Fortess) swimming in gold coins like Scrooge McDuck. WOW! Beyond all that the game is a solid strategic, time/resource management, simulation business tycoon game. There is even a place where the player can customize their character, the protagonist, and their rival, the antagonist.

The whole idea is to restore the family fortunate by literally recruiting "executives characters" and amass both wealth and a force of local ruffians to FIGHT and TAKE OVER each district, which the player does get a limited choice over. (5 sections in level 1) At 16 hours I just managed to finish level 1 which had 5 districts to defeat. (I am sure others can do more quickly. 2 level looks twice as long, with some side quests, maybe.) As the player expect there to be multiple "restarts" when the protagonist is driven into bankruptcy by the women who is just lending money to "help" (loan shark) when the loans are not paid on time. Expect this, the game play is set up that way because each play-through is basically a 'game-plus'. Each play-through, of course, gets easier as you get back your characters with their "progress" (visual novel progress to clarify), but the player knows the character's abilities (who can generate wealth, who can fight, who travels best (the best overall bonus for everyone - just one so, no spoilers), and who can just do office work.)

A very multi-faceted game on many levels. 45 achievements, 9 trading cards, several galleries worth of pictures (job application photos to themed wardrobe choices to the "the full monty"), and complete wardrobes for each character to wear. Each character also has a place where the player can reread their story.

Well worth the price, and the visual novels character story lines are what you make of them. Get those hearts by dating, mini-games, and dialogue. Some of these characters are real characters. Again the WARNING this is an adult game with X-rated content.

If you buy -Enjoy. This game is definitely not for everyone.

Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator

Despite the general lack of instructions regarding certain things like what whirlpools do and just exactly how those crafting machines work, this game is basically a crafting exploratory game. Explore the map to find unknown potions, figure out how to make those potions with the least amount of ingredients, how to make the highest grade or combined potions and satisfy customers who sometimes make special requests.

Once beyond the main menu, instructions are generally pictorial which can be a bit puzzling. However, a large part of this game is all about exploring and experimenting. All the herbs, mushrooms and crystals have a designated path so being creative in path building to the target is a necessary requirement.

Most strategy is involved with the customers and making money. Though money is not the main focus, it is needed for alchemy machine upgrades, ingredients (herbs, mushrooms, crystals, and especially the much needed potion recipe paper) that need to be purchased. There several merchants that stop by on a regular basis (one merchant per day) who offer specific items. Which items, when, and how much is purchased is all part of the overall game strategy. It is possible to haggle with both merchants and customers (which is explained in-game) but can be difficult for those with slow reflexes. Haggling is not required expect for one chapter list requirement.

There are ten chapters total, each with a list of requirements to complete. Any requirement from any chapter once completed is recorded. This can be accessed at any time so progress can be tracked. Achievements are game play based and most, if not all, can be achieved while playing. The two reputation achievements are the only ones that need special attention and most likely some grinding.

Throughout the game play there are progress points earned which can be used to increase money received from customers, increase the rate of map clearance, increase number of level point books and haggling ability.

Highly recommended for crafting buffs especially since there is no grinding needed for progress, only creative thinking. Plenty of crafting to do, lots of exploring needed and enough strategy to keep busy and not be bored. Easy enough for all with focused requirements for progress. Worth the price.

Sid Meier's Civilization with magic, monsters, champions, quests and plenty of mayham for your main character to battle. Unlike Civilization beside battling with other fractions your main character builds a personal army which includes chooseable champions, incorporated monsters, and customizeable city derived warriors to clear your land by fighting monsters. This game is far more layered and complex than Civilization but all the same strategies apply. If you enjoy Civilization or games like it, I highly recommend this game.
