It's ages since I've used that command but isn't it "firstname lastname", what happens if you rename the troopers so they match that format rather than clone trooper names or whatever?
If the command isn't working for vanilla classes then it's not this mod.
UPDATE: No effect when mod is deinstalled. still can't change classes via console - WEIRD.

I've tried it with and without the space for the first and last name and also tried capitalising the makeasoldierbit for each word - everything I've tried doesn't set the classes properly via console even for normal classes (yet alone Akimbo)
Idk what to do next tbh - I'm going to try a new save in case it's glitched but it could be a wider issue
No, but you can get pretty close by using a sleek hairstyle and reaper cosmetics.
