The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan

True Masterpiece, And I cannot wait for the next game. :) Happy I got it for the 33% off though.

But let's break it down shall we... (Do not read this next bit if you don't want spoilers)

Good stuff:
First of, the story is great and had us intrigued from the get-go. Sound track is awesome and the art was very well done.
Character development was interesting, choices you made almost shaped their personality and each choice had a consequence. There was little room for bullsh!t, it was pretty straight to the point all the way through. It definitely kept us on the edge of our seats. You gotta have extremely quick reaction with some decisions and movement though, failure in one instance for example, resulted in the death of one of our characters. Plot twist, while somewhat predictable yet still unexpected is also a good addition. Even after finding out the truth, we still almost got caught up in the story and deceit. lol
I would definitely play this again, if not a 3rd and 4th time, just to see how different choices changes the narrative.

Bad stuff:
Ok first and most important thing to mention, it's a fairly short game. My husband and I finished it in roughly 4 hours.
Ending was mildly anti climactic. The next thing i was not prepared for fully was the camera angles. It made for some awkward movements in certain points of the game. It had a pretty big impact on control of movement all through. I was sad that I couldn't see all the awesome stuff happening on my husbands screen and his freaky visions and jump scares and he couldn't see the ones I got. I guess though this isn't as much a bad thing, it kinda plays into the whole story well in a way. I found it funny though that I got 90% of the jump scares while he only got 10% - Yet some of the freaky things again was normal looking on my side where-as he saw the creepy stuff more again. Again, this kinda plays into the story and will make sense towards the end.

All in all I'd give this:
10/10 - Story
10/10 - Art and sound
8/10 - Game play in general (points deducted for length)
6/10 - Mechanics

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope

Wow... Just WOW!!! Not disappointed at all. As much of a masterpiece as the first one, looking forward to the 3rd installment of the series...

Sooo... (Do not read this next bit if you don't want spoilers)

Good stuff:
First of, the story is great and once again we were not disappointed in this. It had us on edge from the start. Sound track is awesome and the art was very well done.
Character development was on point. Each dialogue had an effect on the story. And we know this, because we made few different choices here and there as we were forced into a re-do a few times (More details on this part below by the Bad stuff). And even the slightest change in dialogue changed traits and relationships as well as some of "what happens next". It was just very well done overall. Quite a few jump-scares. Even ones we expected because we already experienced them XD
Ending was bone-chilling and actually almost had me in tears.
Well done all round.

I would definitely play this again, if not a 3rd and 4th time, just to see how different choices changes the narrative. Apparently there's 6 possible endings. We'll see....

Bad stuff:
Ok first and most important thing to mention, it's a fairly short game. My husband and I finished it in roughly 4 to 5 hours of playtime.... Only seems longer because of what happened in between, see below.
When you get the the vary last part. The final chapter/scene, "Ruined House". Our game kept crashing at the one point when we would enter the one room of the house. Basically this is when you pass the desk with the postcard that gives you a scene/vision teaser for the 3rd game in the series. You go through another room where you look out the window of a door, then around into the other side of the previous room. There lays a book - the moment one of us would pick up the book, read the captions and see the small cut scene - the game would crash. It would refuse us to "continue" where we last left off (Shared story co-op) and we would have to restart the game all over again... We found the workaround for this... When you get there, see the postcard, see the scene/teaser clip for the 3rd game, turn around and go the other way. I'm not sure if this is a bug everyone experiences, but if it is... don't go further to that side, turn around and explore the other side of the house. Nothing there you really need anyway. You need to be upstairs and you can get there from the opposite end.

All in all I'd give this:
10/10 - Story
10/10 - Art and sound
8/10 - Game play in general (points deducted for length and minor buggy-ness)
8/10 - Mechanics (Definitely improvement from the 1st one)
