After playing the game for quite some time and finally gathering all the achievements, I thought it was about time I gave this game a review.

Guilty Gear Strive is one of my most favorite games to play and I consider it to be the best fighting game I've seen and played. From it's characters, to it's gameplay, the music, and the design overall, I would say that this game is one fine piece of work.


As this was my first time getting into a fighting game like this, I found it really easy to play and learn. All of the characters that you can play are really fun to play as, not to mention unique from each other. I learned how to play mainly through practicing with the bots and turning up the difficulty when I've been making improvements and continued to learn my character and gameplay mechanics as it went on.

I find the multiplayer side of this game to be really great. The idea of rollback frames makes the experience a whole lot smoother so it's playable, and personally I find the floor system really great. It felt like I was matching against players that were around my level so all of the matches were fair and fun to play in.


The visuals for this game are just incredible to see. I personally love the map designs and even the character designs as well. A cool thing to note about designs is that you can even view the concept art of all the characters which I thought is a nice addition. During battles, I'd say they did a great job for making a lot of the character supers look really amazing.

The soundtrack is another thing that makes this game incredible. There isn't a single song in this game that I dislike, because all of them are an absolute banger. They're all very distinct from each other, and the songs suit their characters extremely well. With an added bonus, they have songs from the previous games that you can unlock as well which are also just amazing tracks to listen to while fighting.


The other content in this game is awesome as well, like story mode. I'd say the story for the game is a great bonus, not to mention it visually looks great as well. It has a lot of content to it with 10 chapters, which goes for a total of 4+ hours. There's other story related content as well in the arcade, with each character having their own little story with a boss at the end to all of them (which is extremely difficult if you win every single match until you reach the stage).

And for the times you don't feel like fighting, there's always fishing. You're able to fish with credits that you earn from leveling up in fights in multiplayer, which can be done in the tower, the park, or even private rooms. With these credits, you're able to fish for gallery items, which can be concept art, music tracks from the past games and even short trailers. You can also fish for outfits and accessories for your avatar. Lastly, you can fish for furniture items to make your private rooms look nicer. I find this nice to do after a long day of playing.


I would say all of the DLC characters are really fun to play as, and worth their price. All of them contain the character and their theme, and there's certain ones that may contain a new map as well. However, the one DLC that I find optional is the additional colors DLC. I wouldn't say it's necessarily worth it but it's nice to have.


Overall, I'd say Guilty Gear Strive is currently the best fighting game out there if you're new to these kind of games, a fan that played their past games or even if you love fighting games in general. It was definitely worth the money and I'll continue to enjoy this game as it goes on.

but fr though it was totally worth the price for the soundtrack and getting a free game as a bonus am i right guys ahahaha
