We are a gaming clan focused on gaming history and game development.

We are the main governing body behind the ArCon LANs organization and the Argon Labs Youtube Channel.

Our mission statement is to promote equality in gaming and educate gamers about gaming history in an effort to ensure that the future of gaming remains bright and full of innovation. We believe that the key to innovation in this industry lies in rediscovering the forgotten gems (and garbage) of the past and exploring new ways of thinking for the future. This philosophy drives everything we do as a clan. We treat everyone equally, whether you be male, female, Antarctican, Sectoid, or Kerbal. Just don't try to anal probe us, or crash your SRB's into our LAN parties, and we'll be fine.

Government:
The clan is governed as a collective. All decisionmaking powers are shared equally among the administrative staff. Important issues are discussed by the administrative staff and a decision is made, either by consensus or majority vote. Since there are normally only 3 active administrators, decisions are usually reached quickly and a majority is guaranteed. In the case when decisions must be made quickly without deliberation, any Administrator is trusted to make whatever decision they feel is appropriate without consulting with the other Admins. Many decisions are subject to vote among the sector of membership who would be affected by those decisions, which is sometimes everyone.

History:
Argon Labs Clan was founded in 2005 by Argon and Radon. The name was a reference to work Argon had been doing for the Chaos Evolution mod for Unreal Tournament 2004. The Argon Labs Corporation, the fictional creators of the Chaos Pulse Pistol and the various fuels for the Chaos Multi Utility Gun, was the twisted brainchild of Argon himself. Since Argon and Radon were both avid Chaos UT players, and knew others who were as well, it seemed like a good idea to start a clan together. Argon Labs seemed a natural choice since it reflected the clan's involvement with the development of Chaos, and so the clan was born. In 2006, the clan grew considerably when it became a supergroup in City of Villains and amassed over 250 members. Clan membership grows and shrinks over time. The Core members are currently Argon, Radon, Xenon, Umi, Magecow, Spazmunke, Alpheius, Mongo, Titanium, Neon, and Lithium.

Alliance Teamspeak

We have been granted a section of the Alliance Teamspeak server at dwmgaming.com for our use.

All members wishing to participate in Dark Sector operations (and get in on the massive credit rewards for doing so) need to get Teamspeak3 and log into dwmgaming.com.

The first time you log in, you will need to contact an admin so we can get you set up. Otherwise you won't be able to do anything. It's probably a good idea to send a steam tell to Argon before you log in to see if he's available to help. It doesn't take long and it's important to being able to advance in the clan.

Warframe Advancement

For those of you looking for ways to get promoted within our Warframe division, here is the advancement path:

Recruit -> Agent: Help other clan members and alliance members when possible. Log in frequently and join clan or alliance squads. Basically, make sure your name appears in front of other clan or alliance members as much as you can without doing something reprehensible, and you will probably get promoted.
Agent -> Commander: Help out with any events we are running and join our active PVP squads and operations in defending or attacking Solar Rails. I'm not sure how you could do this without being logged into the alliance teamspeak, so it is HIGHLY recommended you are active there. Rack up kills and show that you are active so that you will be noticed by admins and you will be promoted at the next review.
Commander -> Champion: Awarded by staff to Commanders who go above and beyond in support of the clan's overall mission statement and enforce clan rules with the goal of building a strong, fun, supportive community, and striving to create an environment of fun and cameraderie.

Staff positions are reserved for ranking Argon Labs members and leaders who help with overall clan management and clan activities not specific to a single game. Note that these positions are not always available. We only promote to these when the need arises and there are eligible members.
