@Battl3bee Somebody commented once that it wasn't compatible, so I took their word for it.
Battl3bee Mar 25 @ 4:52pm
what does it mean not compatible with CE? I've been using it with CE for a while and haven't had any issues whatsoever with it. has nothing to do with combat so idk why it says that.
Kyrrisayo  [author] Nov 5, 2024 @ 5:54pm
@dotjson My apologies. I'll get that change added soon then. For some reason, even though you responded a mere 45 minutes later, Steam didn't notfiy me, or least, that's the excuse I'm going with if I happened to just miss the notification.
inkonink Nov 5, 2024 @ 1:22pm
its not ce compatible
dotjson Oct 11, 2024 @ 6:28am
Looks like you can just drop <veinMineable>true</veinMineable> within the ore ThingDefs and in between the Building tags and that should work!
Kyrrisayo  [author] Oct 11, 2024 @ 5:41am
@dotjson I was actually looking into that recently. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to figure it out. If you can figure out how to do it, I'll gladly add it to the mod.
dotjson Oct 11, 2024 @ 5:07am
Any possibility to add the "mine vein" function from 1.5?
Kyrrisayo  [author] Aug 27, 2024 @ 6:34pm
@Lemon caro Not a clue.
Lemon caro Aug 27, 2024 @ 5:49pm
is this CE compatible?
Kyrrisayo  [author] Aug 26, 2024 @ 3:17pm
The source is included in the mod, by the way.
Kyrrisayo  [author] Aug 26, 2024 @ 3:16pm
@tanyfilina Mod settings, since they require custom C# code, unfortunately.
tanyfilina May 14, 2024 @ 5:18am
What are Assemblies in this mod used for?
Kyrrisayo  [author] Jan 30, 2024 @ 5:52am
@Wolfwood1316 No problem. Glad it's useful!
Wolfwood1316 Jan 29, 2024 @ 9:41pm
still using the shit outta this mod, so thanks
Kyrrisayo  [author] Sep 11, 2023 @ 7:30pm
@MasterOfBacon I don't know, as I don't know exactly what Vanilla Expanded's bronze does. Probably the one from this mod, including the recipes for making it, if you can. That'd likely be the cleanest combination.

And thanks! It's good to know that others find the mod useful, even nearly 5 years later.
MasterOfBacon Sep 11, 2023 @ 6:02pm
ok which bronze should I remove I think I know exactly what mod you are talking about.

Cherry picker mod or something I think its called.

Thank you for the response been using this mod for YEARS.
Kyrrisayo  [author] Sep 11, 2023 @ 4:52pm
@MasterOfBacon Unless they support it, no. Although, there's a mod out there that allows you to remove certain things from other mods that would work, I believe.
MasterOfBacon Sep 10, 2023 @ 10:47pm
does this work with vanilla expanded's bronze now? :) glad to see the mod still being updated.
Kyrrisayo  [author] Aug 10, 2023 @ 2:50pm
@Synthetic Someone else was having that problem a while ago. Last I checked, it worked fine for me, though.
Synthetic Aug 10, 2023 @ 11:24am
Am I the only one who can't craft weapons from any metals from this mod?
Kyrrisayo  [author] Jul 5, 2023 @ 5:20am
@Blazerik Yeah, it would have been the perfect time, but I forgot.
Blazerik Jun 11, 2023 @ 8:19pm
Looking at this mod again a year later and author still has not fixed the issue with the metal names in his defs. The transition to 1.4 would of also been the perfect time to fix the issue.
*Sigh*
Nörr Mar 30, 2023 @ 8:51pm
Oh I see, well thanks anyways!
Kyrrisayo  [author] Mar 30, 2023 @ 6:21pm
@Auz-vali~ <3 It's likely a problem on your end. It works for me (with 100+ mods I might add), and I haven't changed anything about this mod recently.
Nörr Mar 30, 2023 @ 11:35am
Sorry again for the unrelenting questions, but I kinda just noticed that the metals aren't actually used to make things? I cant make any weapon/armor/shield out of any metals from this mod. Is this a problem on my end or is this intended?
Nörr Mar 30, 2023 @ 8:36am
Will do
Kyrrisayo  [author] Mar 30, 2023 @ 6:57am
@Auz-vali~ <3 No, unfortunately. Sorry. But, if you find one, leave a link here and see about putting it in the description for others.
Nörr Mar 29, 2023 @ 8:42pm
Ah. Yeah I have a mod that changes the flammability of metals to 0, are you aware of any that change the ones specific to your mod?
Kyrrisayo  [author] Mar 29, 2023 @ 6:49pm
@Auz-vali~ <3 I'll consider tweaking the beauty values a bit, but everything's balanced around vanilla, so I didn't want to end up making something that, for example rival's gold in beauty for 1/10th the cost.

That's also why all the metals are flammable. Steel in vanilla is flammable, so the metals I added are as well. I think there are mods that will changes this, though, if you want.
Nörr Mar 29, 2023 @ 11:39am
Hey, just a quick question wondering if it would be possible to give copper a little beauty buff? Its abundant and overall useless for most things, but copper statues I think are pretty beautiful :)

(Also note that its flammable? Seems kinda strange)
MasterOfBacon Jan 26, 2023 @ 11:14am
Well thanks to both of you I can enjoy this awesome mod again :D
Kyrrisayo  [author] Jan 25, 2023 @ 5:20pm
@MasterOfBacon No problem. Glad I finally got around to doing it, and, of course, Meltup was a big help again this time.
MasterOfBacon Jan 25, 2023 @ 3:32pm
YES thank you so much I love this mod! :necroheart: :broflex:
Kyrrisayo  [author] Jan 25, 2023 @ 2:23pm
The mod has been updated to 1.4, for those following this thread.
Kyrrisayo  [author] Jan 7, 2023 @ 10:40am
@Dester Does it not work with 1.4 currently? (Besides not saying it's the correct version.)
Dester Jan 4, 2023 @ 12:36am
When will this be updated for the 1.4 version ?
Arnokill57 Nov 11, 2022 @ 7:23am
As long as it is on the list thats ok. Take your time. Was worried that my favorite mod would be forgotten.
Kyrrisayo  [author] Nov 10, 2022 @ 12:00am
@Arnokill57 It's on my to-do list. Does it not work currently?
Arnokill57 Nov 8, 2022 @ 10:12pm
will there be any action to update to 1.4?
Blazerik Oct 14, 2022 @ 7:41pm
Disregard my previous (currently deleted) comment. I was one the wrong mod. This mod does not interfere with recipes @pedro However I still recommend that the Mod Author fix his defnames as common courtesy of being a modder
pedroekh Oct 14, 2022 @ 6:22am
Does the metals appear in the recipes? I mean, like power conductors now use copper instead of steel, and etc? Os are they only present on items which you can choose the material?
MasterOfBacon Oct 5, 2022 @ 6:32pm
Here use this a ref

I actually machine lots of different metals and wood :)

https://www.precisebits.com/reference/relative_hardness_table.htm

Maple is such a hard wood they use it for bowling alley floors.

Talk about HARD wood.

That link I posted is a rough guide to use if you want to do "TIN VS WOOD"

Some woods are harder then tin you would be surprised.
Kyrrisayo  [author] Sep 30, 2022 @ 10:21am
@idea λ Thanks! I try.

I'll consider making tin less fragile, however, if you look it up, tin's actually only a 1.5 on the Mohs scale, so I'd consider most woods to actually be harder and less-fragile. Of course, it depends on the wood. Some would still definitely be softer.
tmo97 Sep 26, 2022 @ 8:57am
Thanks for making this mod and keeping it updated. Would you make tin less fragile than wood?
Kyrrisayo  [author] Sep 25, 2022 @ 9:35pm
@idea λ Oh, it's a mod. I had thought he was referring to a recent vanilla addition to Rimworld. I appreciate the simple explanation of the topic, though!
tmo97 Sep 25, 2022 @ 2:33pm
Resource dictionaries are a concept that has been used in games for >10 years. Minecraft has this 'oredictionary' thing. Basically what you do:
name everything in your mod
kyrrisayo_x
where x is the original defname.

suppose you have your own version of steel and vanilla defname of steel is just
steel
then you'd name yours
kyrrisayo_steel

A resource dictionary is a mod that handles all these identicals and allows other mods to use your copper in crafting recipes and whatnot.
Kyrrisayo  [author] Sep 22, 2022 @ 10:52pm
@Blazerik Resource dictionary? Well, that sounds like something new since I last worked on this mod. That does seem like a pretty compelling reason to modify the def names.
Blazerik Sep 22, 2022 @ 3:28pm
That's not a nice way to play with other mods.
Also resource dictionary exists now so only one of a repeating metal has to exist ingame, however resource dictionary can do nothing when the error from not personalizing exists.
Kyrrisayo  [author] Sep 21, 2022 @ 11:24pm
@Blazerik If there are two versions of the same metal, I'd prefer that there be a conflict, as this mod wouldn't work well in that case anyway, but, yes, you are correct.
Blazerik Sep 20, 2022 @ 9:35pm
I've noticed a problem with your mod. You have not personalized your defnames as is common practice, meaning anyone else who also doesn't personalize them and also names them any of these metals will have varying levels of conflict with your mod.
