"Stunning open world story-driven RPG" is one of the first things you can read about this game. But is it really true? Or are those only empty words. Let's find out!

Gameplay
The Best and worst part of the game.
Why best?
Firstly, because of the fighting system. You can choose from many different fighting styles and many of them are after some time quite enjoyable. Animations are fluent and fighting mostly feels good. The Camera is also very well done. Secondly, crafting, weapon and armour customizing and skill trees. Every true RPG fan loves to customize their abilities and their gear. You can choose from many different skill, talents and attributes trees, which provides a good variety of options for your experience. As in other spiders games, gear customization and gear variety are very well made. There are tons of gear to choose from and many mods to insert into your gear. Finally, the companions. Most of the time, they are great. They do enough damage in a fight, they don't really stand in your way and you can customize their gear as your own.
Now, why worst?
Firstly, While it's true that you can choose from many fighting styles, once you learn one, it can get boring from some people. Especially the magic tree. I personally used melee mixed with magic, so it wasn't that boring. Secondly, don't expect looting gear from creatures and chests. Yeah, some gear drops from them, but it's very scarce. Only a few hidden chests and some bosses have good gear. The rest you must buy from merchants. And finally, the difficulty. I started on normal, but I ended on extreme, and even then it felt like normal. But this mostly applies for mage class, so if you want some real challenge, use melee class.

Story
Very enjoyable. It's also very deep, with its history, many different factions and secrets of the island. It has some twists and many of your actions directly impacts the story and the ending. If you want to dig deeper into the secrets of the island, side quests are a good way to do it, but aside from their story, they are not very enjoyable. But, if you want to increase the reputation with a certain faction (and get the best ending), you must do them. Also, if you don't like long dialogue options and long dialogues, you won't really enjoy it.

Activities
Greedfall has some activities, besides the main story, but it's not the best part of the game. You can complete side quests, but as I said earlier, only for the plot, because otherwise, you will mostly walk between places and fight some monsters. There are also fighting arena, but you can beat it pretty quickly. You can also romance almost all of your companions, or make them your friends by completing their quests. The most enjoyable activity are boss fights. There are usually one in every area, and they come with many different types and shapes These can be challenging and enjoyable. You can also get the best gear from the bosses too.

Enviroment
GreedFall is separated in many smaller areas, so expect some loading screens. Individual areas are nicely crafted, but you bump into many invisible walls on your travels and they can sometimes feel very corridor-like. Mobs and enemies come in a few variants, but many of them fight very similarly, so don't expect Witcher-like variety. Other than that, they are okay.

Graphics
Lovely at times, great most of the times, especially the environment, surfaces, natives, effects and bosses. The weakest points are faces, some mobs and facial expressions. Those look a bit dated. Also, cutscenes look really nice and have some good camerawork.

Conclusion
GreedFall brings some fresh air into the RPG genre, but it has some weak points and it's not for everyone. It has great RPG elements, a beautiful environment and a decent story, but it lacks in activities, lots of walking in quests, and poor facial animations.
