OneShot is a top down exploration puzzle game, where you have to restore a world's sun, meanwhile you control a child in an unknown world. For 2016 (and for a "RPG game") the visuals are pretty, characters and their animations are well made and all of the cutscenes are nicely drawn. The soundtrack is also fitting and the controls are simple, but OneShot's strongest point is the story, to be more specific the narrative of it. Without giving too much away: it often breaks the fourth wall with it's characters and happenings, which gives the player a completely new perspective of their action and how it affect the story, especially since the game only grant one playthrough, but these aspects (and some others) makes the overall story more interesting and authentic. It's also not a long game either, you can play it through in 3 - 5 hours.

If I have to nitpick on something, I would mention the exploration as a problem for me, because on some point of the story I had no clue where to go and it felt I'm just going in circles until I randomly stumble upon the way to go... this happened a few times in my playthrough(s). Also, I think this game is only working well if you are interested in with the overall story and atmosphere, this is not something that people want to rush through or pick up if they want high octane actions for them.

For me OneShot is a beautiful and cleverly made game with a great story and message. I can definitely recommend this game, if you are interested in some "light felt at first" story and exploring a new world. The game reminds to Undertale and Everhood, but these games are much more action packed in general and less focused on the "player's involvement" in the story. 9.75€ feels just right for this one.
