Once a year, the Paintress wakes and paints upon her monolith. Paints her cursed number. And everyone of that age turns to smoke and fades away.
Year by year, that number ticks down and more of us are erased. Tomorrow she’ll wake and paint “33.” And tomorrow we depart on our final mission, We are Expedition 33.

Yea what a story premise. I don’t usually vibe with turn-based RPG, waiting my turn isn’t really my style, but this one? This one slapped hard.
The visuals? Gorgeous. The story? Hits harder than my Monday morning anxiety. Themes of loss, grief, and acceptance are woven in so well, I was out here getting emotional over fictional people. The characters are memorable, and the soundtrack? Absolute bangers, award-worthy BGM.

Gameplay-wise, imagine Persona had a baby with Sekiro. You’ve got stylish turn-based combat with just enough QTE real-time dodging, jumping and parrying. The battles are tough, but in a “yell at your screen and then high-five yourself when you win” kind of way.

Sandfall Interactive really popped off with their debut. The art is top-tier, the vibes are immaculate, and you can tell the devs poured their heart, soul, and probably several sleep-deprived nights into this game. GOTY 2025 contender? No doubt.

Also, play with the French voice acting. It just hits different. Makes everything feel 30% more poetic and at least 70% more dramatic.
