Well, this will be probably the most difficult review that I have written here on steam...

Where to start...?

This game starts very carefree, you slowly enter the roles of three androids in the near future with very different purpose... Kara, who is there to take care of the household and children, Marcus, whose role is to take care of an old and sick man, and Connor, who is here to help the police solve various crimes. The purpose of each of them is to be there to blindly listen to human orders and to perform every task without discussion. BUT... it's not that easy. Every android encounters conflict situations that cause logical errors in which each of them has to overcome that “short circuit” in one way or another.

Each situation leaves numerous narrative routes that can take events in completely opposite directions. The essence is that androids themselves are at such a high level of imitation of us - they have natural reactions, sometimes dilemmas about what and how to do in a certain situation... then it is up to the android to make its own decision. And that is the point where artificial intelligence comes into play with its algorithms. To do it or not? Create a logical error that will cause the operating system to collapse? Switch to the backup system and reset? Or will a paradox arise that will lead to an unforeseen error in the system with indefinite consequences?

Everything is... so... complicated and unpredictable.

Real situations lead to that - do you want to protect a small child from a violent and drunk father as an android? It's not your job, it's not your purpose, it's just yours to clean the house, cook lunch, and ask nothing. But "short circuit" leads to you as an android having to protect human life. That is the main and basic command of all androids. And that is exactly what creates a lot of "short circuits" through which androids slowly but surely realize that they have their will, they have their "life". They can even love and care for another being.

And is that life less valuable and are those emotions insignificant and irrelevant?

Do we have the right to decide on that? Can we lightly write off someone's hopes, someone's wishes, someone's future... someone's love and care for a child?

Is love reserved only for humans?

You come to the conclusion that an android can certainly provide more love and emotions than an alcoholic and a drug addict.

These are questions that are not reserved only for this game. These are questions that will inevitably come at one point in the future. And then it will be up to all of us to investigate who we are and whether we really have the right to decide EXACTLY about EVERYTHING in this world.

Throughout history we have seen that we as humans have not been very good not even to us or to this planet of ours. Two world wars, poverty, inequality and the destruction and pollution of the environment... there are many things that are completely wrong.

This game makes you think. After playing it, you will stop and ask yourself about everything. And you will think carefully about what the future holds ahead.

Do we have the right to deny others the right to life?
Do we have the right to deny love?

This game is amazing - narrative and philosophical perfection.

After all these years I can say for myself that I am a Life is Strange fan. Games that were much more than that, games that touched me on a much deeper level.

And now ... it's time for a new game in the Life is Strange universe.




This game is... different. There is no time travel here, no telekinesis, no supernatural powers...

...but there is something much more precious.

Empathy.

The game puts you in the role of Alex, a girl who comes to the small town of Haven Springs after many years to meet her long-lost older brother. Initially, everything is wonderful - a small town in a small valley between the mountains. An idyllic place full of wonderful people.

But, not long after, things get out of control - a tragedy occurs in a nearby mine where Alex loses her brother. And that is where the conspiracy that exists in the company responsible for the surrounding mines is learned.

The conspiracy is quite deep and it is learned that things are not idyllic at all in that company that wants to present itself as the main benefactor for society and the community. And here we now fall into a vicious circle of a small place where ordinary people have their dreams, desires and life problems.

But behind it all, you also realize what it's like to live in a difficult world... a world where you don't have a family, where you don't have sincere friends and where you don't have love. And that's where your soul comes to the scene... you, as someone with a difficult life story, understand others and know how much sincere feelings are worth.

You see the world collapsing, shattered like glass. And you know how sincere empathy is invaluable.

Playing this game I went through the same stages that my real life is through. I also didn't have my parents with me. Because of the war, I grew up in orphanage and I know perfectly well what kind of things in life you have to go through. I also know how life makes you raise your hand to yourself.

Because of all these things, I see that this story is an extremely real story. A story that may be from the real life.

And that's why I really appreciate this game. I appreciate it because it tells a story that can very well be true in today's world.

A story whose pictures speak more than a thousand words.

Life is strange... but it makes us move on stronger than anything.
