Project Sahel (Legacy)

Descripción
This mod is no longer being worked on, I am currently working on an complete remake using a new mod list

Important:
Project Sahel requires either the ownership of both the S.O.G Prairie Fire and Western Sahara CDLCs or the respective compatibility data addons that can be found here and here

Overview:
Project Sahel aims to add 6 new factions based an African Cold War theme, taking inspiration from various conflicts including The Sierra Leone Civil War, The Rhodesian Bush War and The Nigerian Civil War. So far the 5 new factions include a Western backed democratic country, an Eastern backed communist dictatorship, independence fighters, terrorist militants and rebels who claim to be the new government.

Plans:
-Creating custom skins for vehicles for every faction
-Adding patches for most factions
-Adding a new INDFOR faction
-Adding a Civilian Faction

In 1957, the neighbouring colonies of British Mosama and the French colony of Sahel-Luataba gained independence after a bloody civil war in Sahel-Luataba began to inspire violence in it's British neighbour. Under the Winchester House agreement, both colonies would gain independence and unite into the Republic of Cuanica, despite the divide between the French and English speaking population. In 1983 Communist militias began to form in the East of the country after being inspired by the uprising in neighbouring Burkina-Faso. What ensued was 6 months of bloody fighting resulting in the Communist militias capturing the entire East of the country and declaring independence as the People's Republic of Luataba. The remnants of the Cuanican government reformed under the banner of Mosama.

The West instantly began training and arming the Mosaman Defence Force with assistance from Britain, France, Portugal and primarily the US. At the same time the Soviets began supplying the Armed Forces of Luataba. In November 1983, 4 months after the collapse of Cuanica, war broke out between the two nations over the disputed and oil rich province of Miatioky in the Saharan North.

After the collapse of Cuanica into Mosama and Luataba, Western support not only continued but vastly increased for the new Mosaman government, especially from the US. The West provided weapons vehicles and training for the Mosaman Defence Force. The biggest advantage possessed by the MDF is their superior air force, possessing a diverse range of planes, jets and helicopters that had seen action in Vietnam with the US, as well as paratroopers. Despite their air superiority and effective training, the MDF's armoured divisions are severely underpowered compared to their Luataban counterparts.

Only days after the People's republic Of Luataba declared it's existence, the USSR began providing heavy weapons and vehicles to the Luatabans in order to defend itself from Mosama and their Western allies. Compared to the MDF's diverse and effective selection of aircraft, the Luatabans had a comparatively weak air force and therefore focused on improving their air defence network with assets such as radars and SAM systems which the MDF did not have access to.

Independent rebels attempting to rid Miatioky province and it's surroundings from both the MDF and AFCL in order to succeed from both countries and declare independence. Despite being allied with Mosama, the French government are covertly arming the MPLF with WW2 era weapons in return for a lucrative oil contract should the region gain independence.

Organised rebel group consisting of former guerillas and defected AFCL personnel operating in the West of Luataba. The PAFL claim to be the true government of Luataba and while no country but Mosama acknowledges this claim, countries such as South Africa and Israel are proviuding support for them. Despite their origins, they've become a well organised and equipped paramilitary force that regularly works alongside the MDF.

The LRF are a terror group funded and armed by the Luataban government operating in rural Mosama. Consisting of the white Christian descendants of the British colonisers, they actively fought the independence movement and now want to either gain power for themselves or reunite with Britain.

Do you own the Western Sahara CDLC or own it's compatibility data?

I can only find vehicles for the rest of the sides and no soldiers.
Hyena  [autor] 31 MAY 2022 a las 12:30
