This is both one of those games that you wish you can erase from your memory to replay, and one that you carry a little piece of with you. (yes I tear up the second I hear a little banjo)
The first thing I have to say is, DON'T SPOIL YOURSELF. Seriously, I was tempted especially as an achievement hunter who doesn't like to miss things and having to go back. Embrace the struggle and confusion of the early game. The richness of the worlds and the plots you reveal are so worth it.
Secondly, I love the OST; I've been listening to it at work and it has carried me through many boring days with the beauty and mystery of the vastness of the universe that it evokes. A good OST is the main thing that keeps a really good game in my mind, even long after my time with it has passed (see also: subnautica).
Finally, if you're going for that one place (if you know, you know) try it the hard way first. You'll feel equally accomplished and foolish once you discover the easy way. Or better yet, trick your friend into thinking that's the only way to get there and enjoy their wonky flight sim struggles!
