Game title: Fallout: New Vegas

10/10 overall rating: 10/10: Masterpiece

Release year: 2010

Developer: Obsidian Entertainment

Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

Genre: Action Role-Playing (Very very good roleplaying)

PC requirements:
OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP
Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz
Memory: 2GB RAM
Hard Disk Space: 10GB free space
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6 series, ATI 1300XT series

Recommendations: Be sure to get the ultimate edition as many mods require the DLCs (And the DLCs are essential to the full experience anyways). Use the Viva New Vegas mod guide. Trust me it will make your game run smoother than ever before both in terms of gameplay and stability. Be sure to check the “Mods to Avoid" section in the appendix at the end of the guide. Lists some popular mods you should NOT install, explains why, and provides mods that do the same exact thing but without the issues present in the unrecommended mod. I especially recommend the “Replacing Project Nevada” section so you can enjoy the wonders of Project Nevada without having the outdated and broken Project Nevada. I recommend avoiding quest mods until your second playthrough so you can focus on the main game first. But definitely come back to the game eventually as the modding community has made some really beautiful stories, some the sizes of games on their own.

Graphics and Aesthetics: I love the style. Beautiful Environments and iconic level design.

Gameplay: Lovely sandbox of gameplay. Endless different playstyles encouraged. I’ve found all combat styles including pacifist to be rewarding and fun.

Audio: Fantastic soundtrack of old world music to jingle jangle across the mojave desert with.

Audience: Older teens or adults. 17+ I would say.

Difficulty: I feel like most people can pick this up and have an easy time playing.

Grind: Not one reason to grind. Very easy to naturally progress normally through the quests.

Story: New Vegas is my #1 favorite game of all time. Fantastic player freedom allowing for endless approaches to the plot. Plot filled with many many fascinating characters and factions. All of the NPCs tend to have their own backgrounds, opinions, and morals. Absolute freedom to roleplay how you want. If you want to be a pacifist and go through without killing a single person you are able to do that. Alternatively, you can kill everyone you come across and still finish the game. Top notch writing, world building, and characters. Choices are engaging and make you think about your morals.

DLC: I recommend playing the dlcs in the release order: Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road. This way you can catch foreshadowing or callbacks when they come up.
Dead Money is a solid start for the DLCs with amazing lore and characters. A very creepy area that pushes you to survive. Very survival horror. I give Dead Money a 9/10 (amazing).
Honest Hearts is a chill second part of the DLC that contrasts the dark area of dead money well with a more bright and calming area. Gorgeous environment and exploration. Honest Hearts is an 8/10 (great).
Old World Blues is my favorite DLC for New Vegas. Feels like a fun playground with goofy sci-fi humor. I give Old World Blues a 9/10 (amazing).
The DLCs finish with lonesome road. Lonesome Road is a divisive DLC that some people love and others hate mainly for how a certain character is written. I love this character and think he's interesting (I disagree with him but I don’t think he was written to be agreed with to begin with. He seems to be a good representation of what trauma does to one's mind.) I give Lonesome Road a 9-/10 (amazing).
Other than those DLCs there are 2 other small DLCS: courier’s stash and gun runner's arsenal. Couriers stash is nice for giving you some good starting items (i usually use a mod to scatter the items through the world though). Gun Runners Arsenal adds a bunch of custom weapons and ammo to the game to give combat more options. Both of these last minor DLCs are nice but no new story is added.

Game time: https://howlongtobeat.com/game/3351 Playtime can really be stretched. Especially with replay-ability. At the time of this review I’ve hit over 1000 hours on steam. That's not counting how long I’ve played on the console which I believe was more.

Price: Very worth it. I’ve bought it at least 30 times now due to how essential I feel it is. https://gg.deals/pack/fallout-new-vegas-ultimate-edition/

Bugs: So many bugs but adds to the charm for me. I would recommend bug fixes from Viva New Vegas though to save you trouble.

Replay-ability: I will never stop replaying this until I die.

Fav New Vegas mod:
Autumn Leaves provides a new adventure into a private vault designed to house a library that could outlast the falls and rises of society. Extremely talented cast of voice actors. Writing is out of this world. This mod is focused mostly on dialogue and story and has barely any combat.

Game title: The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

10/10 overall rating: 10/10 Masterpiece

Release date: 2002

Developer: Bethesda Game Studios

Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

Genre: Action role-playing

PC requirements:
OS : Windows ME/98/XP/2000
Processor: 500 MHz Intel Pentium III, Celeron, or AMD Athlon
Memory: 256 MB
Graphics: 32MB Direct3D Compatible video card with 32-bit color support and DirectX 8.1
DirectX®: 8.1
Hard Drive: 1GB free hard disk space
Sound: DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card

Recommendations:Be sure when you make your character that you choose the skills and stats you'll actually be using. If you try to use a sword and you aren’t good at using swords, you will have a hard time with combat. Try to keep your stamina up in combat as most things are tied to how tired you are. If your stamina is too low, you will keep missing. I highly recommend you use OpenMW to play as it runs way smoother than the vanilla engine. I also recommend using the modding guide listed to modernize your game to your liking. There's a few options on mod guides to follow depending on how close to vanilla you want to stay. I prefer either “I Heart Vanilla” if you want to keep it mostly vanilla with small quality of life improvements, “I Heart Vanilla Director’s Cut” if you want Project Tamriel and Tamriel Rebuilt included. The modding community for morrowind is very active and dedicated to keeping this game alive and well.

Graphics and aesthetics: This is debatable. I really appreciate the variety in landscapes, environments, and architecture. The atmosphere is gorgeous to me. Adds to creating the strange culture and vibes the worldbuilding already creates.

Gameplay: I love the crazy freedom offered in the gameplay. If you want to become a crazy powerful wizard and fly around a town at lightning speed while raining hellfire down on the population you can definitely achieve that.

Audio: the visuals, worldbuilding, creatures sound design and music all come together to give you a truly strange and beautiful adventure

Audience:Teens and adults. 10+ at least. The game has some parts that might be a bit spooky but with a teen rating. Depends on the kid I’d say.

Difficulty: Can be a bit hard to figure out how to play the game for some new players. It's easy once you figure out the gameplay

Grind: The game encourages you to explore and enjoy the role playing opportunities available rather than going all in on the main quest. My advice is to take your time with the game and just let the journey take you where it takes you. Your character's progression will level naturally that way and it will just feel nice. Rushing the game will make it feel grindy. If you find an area hard, you might not be ready for it yet. Find something else to do or challenge yourself to find how to overcome the difficult area.

Story: Morrowind is my 2nd favorite game of all time. I love player freedom in games. Morrowind has plenty and the story has so much freedom in the way you go about things. The story and lore is absolutely insane and I wouldn't have it any other way. Everything is very fleshed out for the culture here in Morrowind. The world building and writing is hard to beat anywhere else. The world feels so alien with silt striders, cliff racers, scribs, kwama, cliff racers, giant mushroom trees, and much more. Morrowind has the most choices when it comes to elder scrolls when it comes to how you handle quests. If you want to kill everyone, you are 100% free to do that. If you want to handle things diplomatically you can use your silver tongue to do that. Starting the game, you'll find people hate your guts. Morrowind is an incredibly xenophobic and racist province. As you play, you’ll earn a reputation and those that once were treating you like garbage because you are an outlander, now worship the ground you walk on. The feeling of growth in Morrowind is insanely rewarding.

DLC: The official plugins (helm of tohan, siege at firemoth, master index, entertainers, bitter coast sounds, area effect arrows, lefemm armor, and adamantium armor) aren’t anything too big but are welcome additions to the games content with a few quests and cool items.. The expansions tribunal and bloodmoon are awesome expansions to the story but can be a lil messy at times. I’d consider them essential nonetheless. Tribunal gives another layer to the conclusion of the main quest. I recommend Bloodmoon last as it has some of the highest difficulty in the game. I’ll give both Tribunal and bloodmoon a 9-/10 (amazing).

Game time: https://howlongtobeat.com/game/9850 Playtime can really be stretched depending on how much you want to do in the game. Also the replay-ability helps. My current playtime is 421 hours on steam but I know that isn’t entirely accurate because I know I have a lot of hours unrecorded from OpenMW and from the physical copy I played constantly in my childhood.

Price: Very worth it. https://gg.deals/game/the-elder-scrolls-iii-morrowind-game-of-the-year-edition/

Bugs: Definitely has a good amount of bugs. It is a Bethesda game so it is to be expected. Again, I recommend OpenMW and try out one of the mod guides.

Replay-ability: Very replayable. So many ways to go about the quests and so many things to do.

Fav Morrowind mod: Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Tamriel are sister mods with the goal to add mainland Morrowind as well as other provinces to the game using the lore available at the time and with a focus on making it seamless with the main vanilla game. These mods are so well written and designed that while playing with them it feels they were just there from the start.
