it's like darktide if it was good

bomb ass game

three different types of moving: skateboard roller skates and bmx with fun tricks and combos to pull off makes for fun movement. mix this with aesthetically pleasing environments (inspired by y2k funk) makes a fun game to sit back and explore as well.

artstyle is phenomenal. honestly was one of the selling points for me. it's a mix of many different y2k aesthetics (shibuya-punk and urbancore come to mind first) and uses cel-shading (sharper shadows and thick outlines) to make it look more cartoony. the obvious comparison is it's similar looks to jet-set radio.

the story was surprisingly pretty good. the build-up to the boss fight was great and the story twist was fun. i don't wanna say much because spoilers but it's story was an enjoyable ride.

my biggest gripe with the game however was the combat. it's terrible. fighting doesn't feel very punchy if anything it feels floaty. some enemies just end up feeling more annoying than challenging after the first few times. it's more fun to run away from them than to fight them.

most main quest missions feel repetitive. it's all just "gain enough REP and challenge enough people to have a skate-off with a rival gang. gain enough points to win the borough!!" and it's that repeated for 5 times. i'll be honest this feels more like a non-issue (atleast to me) because skating is fun enough to make up for it anyway but i feel like it would've been better to mix it up a little more.

overall 8/10 fun game

EDIT: i forgot to mention the music. it's very hit or miss. there's plenty of different genres (vaporwave, hip-hop, funk, etc) although by far the best music is the tracks made by father naganuma himself. for every banger track you get another track that is some brit with a heavy accent rapping about whatever. that's it, i think the music is fitting for the game but i wouldn't really listen to most of it outside of that.

this game is great. it combines souls-like combat with uncharted inspired exploration with interesting and beautiful levels to explore. that being said, do not get this game. it is horribly optimized to the point that is near unplayable at times, even with performance enhancing mods to stabilize it it runs sub 30 fps at times. please wait until patches come out or just play on console.

resident evil if it was an mmorpg. this game is at its best when it is with a bunch of your friends, that being said you can still have a ton of fun playing by yourself with a video playing in the background

this is probably my favorite star wars game by far, sitting there right next to fallen order.
playing supremacy on felucia is really fun and the feeling of being in a real war is very present as per every battlefield-like.
that being said, this game is not updated anymore. if you do wanna play this game, get it on sale.

never before have i seen a city in a piece of media so beautfiul and so disgusting at the same time.
