Unfortunately older G-Sync modules (mine's from 2017) do not support Freesync.
Back than Nvidia wasn't too keen about sharing access to technology with AMD.
But newer modules do indeed allow the use of Freesync

Vsync and Fastsync don't seem to make a difference

Regarding your review about lossless scaling.
Just use Free Sync, Works with Nvidia aswell

I use Samsung CHG49 and Nvidia RTX 3070
