Game-breaking bug: I was a happy camper until the final boss fight using Barry. The mouse cursor showed up on the screen and my character appeared stuck and I could not control him. I have tried many fixes that seemed to work for others, but to no avail.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a very underrated RE game with a brilliant atmosphere and control scheme dynamic that allows you to switch between two different characters. Throughout the campaign, you will play as different pairs of characters--one pair as Claire and Moira and the other pair as Barry and Natalia. Their stories intertwine by crossing the same setting and areas, but displayed from a different angle and story.

The characters are likeable, but the character development never fleshes out into anything meaningful. Just when you get to a point in the game where the characters could develop an emotional connection, Capcom loses sight of that and throws you back into the old Resident Evil trope. This isn't necessarily a bad thing if you have played Resident Evil games before. It is kinda what you would expect with this franchise.

I am enthralled by the Resident Evil games. After I got sick with autoimmune disease, I have become fascinated with viruses and bacterium. Mostly viruses. How they suppress our immune system and it requires a strong immune system to keep it at bay and remain healthy.

I don't want to spoil Revelations 2, but it has a great story. The motivation behind the villain is one of humanity and survival. Sorta what this T-Virus thing is all about. It isn't just about destruction, but destruction is the aftermath.

Because of the game-breaking bug that comes at the very end, in a chapter that is very lengthy in terms of traversing the map and unlocking paths, I did not have it in me to repeat Barry's Episode 4 chapter to take a chance with the bug. There was no guarantee that by repeating the Episode that the final boss bug will not be present. It feels weird to not be able to finish the game after playing 99% of it.

My advice, beat the boss the first time to avoid this bug. There is no known official fix for it. And the fixes the community suggested may not work for you. It did not work for me. So again, beat the boss the first time to evade this game-breaking bug!

Other than that, I still recommend this game because I really enjoyed what I played. I just YouTubed the final boss fight cutscene and ending and removed the added salt to my wounds. I will live.

Go get this game! It is modern Resident Evil done right. The character switching is not intrusive as you would think and serves a purpose. It does not ask you to frequently switch between characters--only to solve environmental puzzles so you can go about your path.

While the first episode was high adrenaline and not a very strong demonstration of Revelations 2, the game picks up where the Resident Evil series left off. Atmospheric, tense moments, cool enemies and bosses, with an over-the-top plot. What's not to like in a Resident Evil game?

Recommendation: Buy it.

Im gonna split up my long ♥♥♥ review into parts for each individual episode. as im not playing the whole thing though at once. ill add an overall section above everything as soon as i finish all the episodes.

So the game starts out with claire and some other characters being kidnapped from a party and put onto on island with weird bracelets attached to them. as a fan of resident evil 4 it felt all to familiar having a companion who is slightly useless cause they cant shoot. but has the ability to activate levers and other stuff. The other stuff being that Moira can shine her flashlight to stun an enemy for a moment , hit them with a crowbar and is the only one who can open doors that require a crowbar. the other character who does not use guns is a little girl named natalie and she has the power to detect enemies while crouched , detect enemy weak points , squeeze into smaller areas like vents , and use bricks as a melee weapon as well as throwing bricks.

natalie makes it so you can approach the game more stealthily and sometimes forcing you to be more stealthy on survival difficulty. meanwhile moira can be more agressive stunning enemies with the flashlight and then doing a melee combo with claire. Since moira is not small like natalie she can also help clare reach higher places. since your side partners are so unique often times when you play through a simliar area you are traversing the level through completely different routes often seeing different parts of a level entirely. This keeps the game fresh when you go through the same area as the other pair of characters.

Raid mode is the shooting gallery section of this game. it can be fun in short bursts or a quick break between campaign episodes. but its nothing special really. you go through some maps kill "X" number of enemies and you win. there are skills and different characters you can level up , better guns to find and buy , skills to equip , and upgrade parts to find. it has everthing a progression system needs to keep people who enjoy that type of thing going. sadly no one plays this anymore so i end up going solo all the time.

Theres also invisible mode and some time attack thing for the episode 1 levels. thta could add another hour or two onto my 8.7 hours i have already.

some of complaints cause i do have a few. not all the keys are rebindable. i hate rapidly moving my mouse back and forth to escape from a zombie grabbing me shakes everthing on my entire table. id rather mash a keyboard button but i have no choice in the matter it seems.

Bought this game a few years ago and just started playing this game again on a brand new built computer.

Can't believe this game still has the same 2 bugs. These bugs will mostly affect people trying to get S rank on ch3 as ch4 bug has only happened when you retry the last boss.

Got soft locked on Barry ch3 after opening the gate that goes to the factory place. My fix was to close the game and do a file verification for the game.

Then another soft lock on Barry ch4 before the last boss after retrying. The fix for this one I disabled v-sync and set the fps to 30.

In conclusion the game is awesome it has a mix of survival n action shooting. If you loved Revelations 1 you are going to love this one more. You can also do split screen campaign coop(The 2nd player doesn't shoot only assists but it is fun to be 2nd player).

There are post from Capcom devs saying that the soft locks have been fixed but no they still gotta work on those bugs.
