Honestly didn't expect to like this game as much as I did.

Rogue City is pretty much a love letter to the original RoboCop movies. The cheesy 80s/90s action movie writing, dark humour, ridiculous violence and all the little references really make it feel like the developers actually understood what made those movies fun and having Peter Weller back as RoboCop is just perfect.

The gameplay is slow and a bit clunky, but I think that's actually what makes it work. You're not playing a modern FPS super soldier running around everywhere. You're RoboCop. You slowly walk through Detroit like a tank, shooting criminals with the Auto-9 while barely moving an inch faster.

I also liked the light RPG elements more than I expected. You can upgrade RoboCop and decide whether you want him to be more of a cold machine or let Murphy's humanity come through. That human vs machine side of RoboCop is probably one of the best parts of the game.

Detroit is also fun to explore with side investigations, little activities and plenty of fan service. The story itself is definitely cheesy with villains constantly running away while RoboCop slowly follows them and destroys everything in his way, but honestly... that's kind of what I expected.

It's not perfect though. The facial animations and some NPC models are pretty rough, I had a few crashes and FPS drops. It's also not a very long game, around 17 hours for me and once you've done most of it there's not a huge reason to replay it.

But I had a really good time with it.
