Devs are completely and utterly disconnected from the community, with zero intention to fix the game and instead are more invested into spitting onto the community and what little remaining goodwill has been there. Check out other alternatives instead, this aint it.

The settings menu barely works. Enough said.

Overall a pretty good game, and no, not just for grinding out levels for the summer sale minigame. It's actually pretty fun.

The Vive controls are absolutely horrible. Take everything you know about what makes controlling your character in games like Pavlov so easy, and throw it out the window, and what you get is this game. A frustrating mess. The default controls don't get turned off when you choose different ones, and it is bad. Movement with weapons is anything but fun, and teleporting with the shotgun is more of "Where is your gun pointing" instead of what makes other games easy to control of "Where is your controller pointing."

Though this game does have good things to it, and that is the graphics. They look great. The game is pretty fun when you try to get around the horrendus control scheme the game uses.

Overall, I think this game is pretty fun. My 35 minutes of playtime might not seem a lot, but that is because I have crashed 5 times for unknown reasons.

I have 239 hours on this software. 238 of that is trying to find a wallpaper that isn’t ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anime. The last one hour is looking at actually good wallpapers.

It always comes.

Always.

So, with six hours in to this game (most I spent in the Multiplayer, not story) I decided to do my review on the game. As I get more time with the game, I might edit this review. So, here it is.

Pros

Gameplay

Wow. This game is fun. I like multiplayer games like this, and I have fun in this game. As far as I've gotten in to this game, I see no microtransactions. Though. they might be added when I progress even more. And if I am wrong, correct me in the comments, I'm turning them on. Some guns and loadouts are better than others, and I will revisit this later on in this review. The campain is pretty fun, when you can figure out where the f*ck you have to go. I haven't played any of the previous games to compare this to, but on easy it's real easy, on medium, it doesn't have a big challenge, and it gets harder when you crank up the difficulty. Though it must be noted, if you rush to the hardest difficulty of a campain, that is locked and you will have to beat the campain at least once to unlock a better difficulty, which I don't really like. So don't expect to rush to the highest difficulty right when you buy the game.

Graphics

The graphics are great. Textures look really nice, there isn't any render distance issues (*cough* The Crew 2 *cough*) and you can change between Vulcan and OpenGL if you would like, though I haven't seen any difference in performance no matter which one I chose. Speaking of graphics, a 1070 runs this game great at the highest settings at 1080p, all while getting 100 FPS in the process.

Cons

Balance

I don't think this game is focused torwards multiplayer, but I could be wrong on that. Though the balance is horrible. You can have someone that just hit a high enough level to play with people that have been playing for hundreds of hours and are WAY better than you, and also have better guns than you. The gun progression system is pretty much unlocking a gun, armor (that doesn't do anything from what I've seen), and runes. The guns are locked behind a leveling system (and it's pretty easy to level up *cough* Overwatch *cough*), but still annoying how people who have been playing for tens to hundreds of hours have more skill, but also better guns than you. The game does have a mode where you can play against other people (or bots, they are that easy) that are also new to the game. Though I played it, it isn't needed. Runes are also locked behind levels. They are items that give you special abilities (eg, to see enemy healthbars, or see enemy demons). You are only able to pick one per match, though you have 3 rune slots to sift through which rune you have selected in one of the three rune slots avalible (also behind level walls). Coming back to what I said in the first paragraph where some guns and loadouts are better than others though. A double shotgun quick swap loadout is easily the best loadout for the lower leveled player, and I have seen higher level players using them. Over time, this quick swap strategy gets annoying when others are using it, but fun when you are using it. I mean, if you can't beat them join them! If you want to win, you should try to go for a good quick swap loadout. A loadout such as a CSG + SSG loadout is great for leveling up and getting runes and weapons.

Overall review

This game is pretty fun once you get to learn it. If you have played Quake Champions, this game is amazing, though that game is free and this isn't. The story mode is alright, as I couldn't find a way out of the third mission, and I would rather not watch a walkthrough video or guide. Graphics are great, multiplayer is not as great.

7.5/10.
