Super fun game! A rare example of something with monsters/looting/mazes that is enjoyably replayable, not grindy, and doesn't become rage inducing after the first hour. So many items to collect and things to explore, with lots of interesting and quirky enemy types. Love so many of the mechanics & the general format of the game leads it to be paced really nicely. Can't wait to see what buyable items and other enemy/map variations are added over time!

Superb game - so much content to explore! All systems feel fair and balanced. From general enemies to bosses, all are very cool designs and fun to fight, plus base building has a vast range of possibilities and is really enjoyable. The map is huge with a good variety of biomes to explore, increasing in difficulty as you get further from spawn (requiring you to earn new gear from biomes to reach others).

The game doesn't feel grindy and there aren't a lot of menus to dig through to understand what's going on. Best played blind, and highly recommended with friends! How this game is 500mb is beyond me.

Superb game! Very well thought out design which doesn't feel unfair: the randomness of item spawns and encounters makes it easily replayable and highly enjoyable. The whole experience feels well polished and is a lot of fun with friends. Voice chat is great quality and the ability to output voice on a separate channel to game audio is welcome.

The core mechanic of being able to see the threat and it not necessarily being aware of you is the exact scare factor that games like Dead by Daylight lack, and the exact reason I love games like Alien: Isolation. If you're looking for a genuinely creepy multiplayer horror game then look no further. There are so many lobby customisation options that you can use to tailor the difficulty exactly as you like, with plenty of options to make it harder the better you get. AI mode for the creature is also a great addition!

Thankfully this game uses randomly assigned perks to players rather than paid-for perks which create a meta and unfair advantage against new players. Perks here aren't overpowered and actually tend to encourage team play, which is a really nice addition.

Generally the UI is pretty minimal which suits the experience well, although the lobby menu could potentially do with some tidying up. Vision is handled well when playing as the monster, with plenty of options to tweak overall blindness. Your view radius expands as players make more noise by themselves or in the environment, encouraging them to set distractions and keep their own volume as quiet as possible.

Would love to see this continue to get attention and support through future updates - it has a very promising future ahead! Some character customisation would be neat (this could tie to some kind of progression system which unlocks cosmetics), and improvements to the radar would be good: specifically a way to distinguish houses when communicating with others (e.g. give them a number or colour).

Highly recommended!

Start to finish this game is an *incredible* experience, and absolutely the system seller that VR has needed. To keep the review short: play this game. Level design, sound design, pacing - everything is superb. Chapter 7 could be an entire game on its own, and chapter 11 is goosebumps start to end. Can't wait to see what comes next!
On to complaints: weapon selection UI can be a bit clunky - I'd prefer for it to appear away from my hand (at least as an option) as I was often selecting the wrong thing with it being so close. Also, oddly, physics objects don't damage enemies. Your first encounter with a zombie involves you picking up an iron bar, and I died trying to melee him with it as he took no damage. Would've been nice to be able to kill a headcrab by smashing it with a glass bottle!
Those issues don't detract from such an awesome experience however. Worth the wait.

Haven't properly played Dota 2 before but decided to jump into this. Having lots of fun! The UI is quickly improving and gameplay is very accessible and quick to learn the basics.

I feel like there's enough depth to the mechanics to keep me playing for a while, and the mobile option is also great with cross-platform saves.

Excited to see where this goes in the future!

A really interesting concept but unfortunately pretty poorly executed. I was close to giving this a positive review, but can't for a number of reasons I'll explain.

Firstly a few good things:

- The general concept is great, and has some real potential. I'm surprised a multiplayer shooter hasn't tried to use portals in this way before.
- The game looks good and feels generally quite polished, all-be-it clearly lacking some good play testing.
- Character customisation is pretty wide and there are a decent number of options.
- Quite quick to find games with a range of matchmaking options.

Some improvement ideas:

- Redesign maps to promote the use of portals. Portals are the game's USP and yet maps discourage their use heavily by being full of tight corridors and small spaces, with few spots to put portals on.
- Increase the movement speed. From the trailers this game seemed to be really fast paced, but actual gameplay is quite slow. Alternate movement methods would also help this, E.G. sliding and wall running.
- Update the tutorial to show that you can destroy portals with grenades! This is such an important mechanic and really improved the game for me when I figured it out.
- Allow sight through all portals, not just your own. I get this was probably an optimisation thing, but I'd happily take less fancy reflective surfaces to have a more balanced game design. Only being able to see through your portals effectively gives players a wall hack, as people often place portals on the capture points and shoot through them while being unseen. Leads to a lot of frustrating deaths.
- Melee should be toned down, especially while the game continues to use such close quarters map design.
- Portals would work better if they were similar to how they are handled in Portal, rather than changing your trajectory when you go through them to stop you building up momentum.

Really want to see this get some good post-release support and be turned into a fun game. It has some real potential!

Sometimes the simple concepts are the best, and this is one of those instances. A must have for VR!

Lots of customisation options for difficulty which makes it super accessible, and a variety of music choices.

Official mod support would be nice, but I guess that's a world of licensing issues.

Super intuitive controls, and very nice way of introducing game mechanics. Love the visual style! The number of times I have punched my wall trying to throw my gun is incredible. Does this game come with controller insurance?

An innovative and fun FPS that is still consistently updated and dramatically improved years after launch. Plenty of variety in the operators that makes the game engaging and unique for everyone.

Although Operation Health hasn't fixed everything in the game, it's considerably better now than it has ever been before. Well worth a purchase.
