Adjustments are already planned so placement matches will carry more weight in determining starting rank in future seasons.

Champion Rank Philosophy
Champion is intended to represent sustained, high-level performance and not a short snapshot at the start of a season. Because of this, players cannot place directly into Champion. Instead, it must be earned through consistent performance over time in a constantly evolving competitive environment that includes new operators, maps, and balancing updates.

KDA and Rank
KDA is not a factor in rank progression. Siege prioritizes teamwork and impact, where roles like support, intel gathering, and utility usage can be just as impactful as eliminations. The system is designed to reward winning as a team rather than individual stat performance.

Rank Distribution
Players highlighted issues with rank distribution early in the season, particularly clustering in higher ranks. This is not intended for long-term experience, and future adjustments to placement matches aim to create clearer separation between ranks and improve matchmaking quality.

System Improvements Already in Progress
The team has already implemented several updates based on feedback and live data:

• Minimum Rank Point gains were introduced to prevent progression from feeling stalled

• RP fairness adjustments to ensure players in the same match lose and gain points more consistently

The Dokkaebi remaster has been one of the most discussed changes this season. The team revealed that her redesign was the result of nearly two years of iteration, ultimately requiring a full rework of her balancing tools. • Defenders like Mute and Tubarao will be able to interrupt the signal

• If the signal is not interrupted, then the payload will then be delivered and the phone will explode.

Introducing a cooldown will limit the ability to chain activations in quick succession, reducing constant pressure on Defenders. This change creates more defined engagement windows, giving Defenders additional opportunities to reposition between uses. It also reinforces the importance of timing and coordination for Dokkaebi players.

JEGEO PAYLOAD

• Cooldown: 7 seconds.

These are small adjustments that don’t aim to alter an Operator’s overall power level or flexibility. Instead, they focus on polishing gameplay details, improving consistency, and enhancing quality-of-life without shifting the meta. Our goal is to maintain a steady stream of these refinements alongside major updates, helping the game evolve and improve at a constant pace.

A small boost to Sens battery will allow them to be more flexible around the R.O.U. Projector System.

R.O.U. PROJECTOR SYSTEM

• Battery duration increased to 15 seconds (was 13 seconds).

This change aims to give IQ more comfort while using her Electronics Detector.

ELECTRONICS DETECTOR

• Range increased to 22 meters (was 20 meters).

Deploying breaching rounds will now require less precision thanks to the extra range.

BREACHING ROUND

• Increased Breaching Round explosive damage range to 2.2m (from 2m).

This change aims to make Finka more reliable. Charges will be available faster, allowing her to give better coverage to the team.

ADRENAL SURGE

• Reduced ability cooldown to 18 seconds (was 20 seconds).

Thatcher’s EMP radius is already in a healthy spot, but grouping multiple gadgets into a single throw can sometimes require awkward positioning. This change is intended to make that interaction more comfortable and consistent, without increasing Thatcher’s overall power.

E.G.S. DISRUPTOR

• Increased effect radius to 1.85 meters (was 1.75 meters).

In Y10S4.2, Thorn received a set of changes that significantly increased her win rate and presence. With this update, we are introducing a small adjustment aimed at trimming her power level by reducing the punishment for surviving Razorbloom Shells, making successful escapes slightly more forgiving.

RAZORBLOOM SHELL

• Limping effect applied after hit reduced to 10 seconds (was 15 seconds).

Zero’s weapon is already in a healthy state, but we are slightly smoothing its recoil. This set of changes is intended to improve recoil consistency and comfort across all input types, without affecting the weapon’s overall effectiveness.

RECOIL – \[M&K & CONTROLLER]

• Horizontal: Smoother horizontal recoil on all burst stages.

Opportunities to use the Bulletproof Camera’s EMP Dart are limited, so we want each activation to feel more impactful. This small improvement is intended to make it easier to hit enemy electronics.
