Version 3.2
Some bugfixes, adjustments, and a new feature: Saddles, Implants, and Tributes! Destroy Wild Dinos recommended.

Fully Implemented Tribute, Implant, & Saddle System
  • Loot fallen survivor corpses for valuable implants, ranging from Tier I to Tier VI, which are deactivated but can be activated again using tribute from hunted animals!
  • Use the implants in the construction of saddles, making the acquisition of a mount more meaningful.
  • Implants provide a more story-based reason and justification for omnipotent control of your mounts!
  • Make implants and saddles in a centralized crafting station, rather than individual engrams.
  • You no longer have to learn individual saddle engrams. Instead, there are six generic saddle categories that follow the kibble naming convention: Basic, Simple, Regular, Superior, Exceptional, and Extraordinary, with each becoming available every 10 levels.
  • See this post for more detail on Saddle Construction.

Feature Adjustments and Bugfixes
  • Tamed dilos no longer plagued by a weird 50% reduction in speed.
  • Wild fertilized eggs now lose durability again and will disappear after 24 hours if not properly incubated (this should help keep servers clear of wild egg cluttering); spoiling time into unfertilized versions increased to 48 hours (when in an inventory).
  • High Carnivores (e.g. Rex) spawn in at consistently higher levels, so they have a fighting chance against packs of other, lesser carnivores.
  • Increased the domestic tamed level cap from 120 to 150.
  • Fixed the "strangeness" of the torch, stone pick, and note engrams.
  • Equus no longer has a minimum Level 10 requirement to attempt a tame.
  • Renamed some assets to have more consistent naming conventions (helpful for server admins who want to manually control the spawning of animals and nests). See this post for complete Engram and Blueprint spawn codes.

Version 3.12
Argh, another hotfix! Sorry about that. It is not my intention to push out this frequent of updates. Hoping this settles the bug squashing for the time being.

Bug Fixes
-Fixed: You can now properly cook raw fish and mutton again. It did give me the idea though to make fish not decrease health when eaten raw. Yum! Bring on the sushi!

Feature Adjustments
-Curious babies more likely to spawn in the wild for all those yearning for a mammalian companion! Also gave them some limited protections from carnivores. Because of their size and "camouflage" they are harder to detect by menacing predators, increasing the odds you'll find and rescue them!
-Dilo nests less conspicuous, adapted for beach, swamp, and grassland spawns
-Compy nests less conspicuous
-Parsaur nest updated with supporting rock in case of sloped spawns; updated appearance
-Galli nests updated with supporting rock; updated appearance

Version 3.11
Apologies for the quick update! I know it's annoying to have to reinstall on a server. But I felt these fixes were important enough to push through.

Bug Fixes
-Fixed: Moschop and Archa babies can now be given 1 pound worth of meat (raw or cooked) when first hatched. Save the baby moschops and archas!
-Fixed: Spoiled meat now weighs 1 pound, instead of 10. Gross.

Feature Adjustments
-Terror Birds and Carnos no longer hunt together. They hate each other!
-Microraptors no longer attack anything and everything as long as they have a buddy. They now behave like a low tier carnivore, attacking prey they can handle, and avoiding larger predators as best they can.
-Argentavis are still aggressive, but flee much sooner if they come up against a larger predator.
-Only male Kairukus will be found in the wild sitting on their eggs.
-Removed ugly flat rock thing from under dilo nests. Will continue to try and find solutions for nests that land at an angle, revealing the ugly underside of the nest.
-Hyenas are a bit smarter now and don't try to fight larger predators, like carnos, for a carcass.
-Large, aggressive herbivores (trikes & stegos) less likely to engage in territorial disputes, unless there is a nesting ground nearby.
-Reduced the spawn rate of dilo nests somewhat.
-Troodons, true to their design, are back to having shorter day-time aggro ranges. At night, though, watch out! They're vicious and really territorial!
-Hesperornis are no longer crazy, kamakazi ducks with teeth.

Update: Jun 4, 2020 @ 1:51pm

Early June Update - Version 3.1

New Animal Nests & Curious Babies
-Guarded Nests: Moschops, Archeopteryx, Kairuku, Pachy
-Curious Babies: Kangaroo, Megaloceros, Daeodon, Doedicurus
-Burrows: Pegomastax, Morellatops

Removed Implant Weight System
-Implants no longer weigh 130 to 180 pounds. Despite working as intended, it felt more as a punishment for players starting out, rather than encouraging any kind of strategic thinking. Carry weights adjusted.

Trike Tamed Speed Increase and Reduced Aggro Range
-Trikes no longer suffer from a 35% reduction in speed when tamed.
-Trikes are still aggressive herbivores, but their range has been reduced somewhat.

Implant Disruption Field
-Your protective disruption field now lasts 60 seconds, providing you more time to get to safety when first spawning in.

Ichthyornis (Pelicans) Less Annoying (Hopefully)
-In addition to their nest being added, pelicans are less annoying.
-Pelicans do less damage when stealing from your inventory.
-Pelicans have significantly reduced targeting of players and tames, unless you come close to their nesting ground, where they will instead harass you until you leave.

Survivor (Player) Adjustments
-Leveling up speed returned to vanilla rate of 2.5% per dedicated point.
-Leveling up Stamina, Food, Water, Oxygen, and Weight reduced from 25 to 20 per dedicated point.

Update: Jun 1, 2020 @ 9:16am

Version 3.04
-Fixed: Dilo babies can now be given 1 pound worth of meat (raw or cooked) when first hatched. Save the baby dilos!
-Tamed Dinos can still starve, but the rate has been dramatically reduced. Instead, the dinos rack up torpidity, and eventually pass out. If it is a mount, they will no longer gain stamina when starving. This should help with servers where players are not able to get on daily to maintain their hungry dinos.

Update: May 31, 2020 @ 2:08pm

Version 3.03
-You now start the game with a 60 second protective buff that prevents wild dinos from targeting you. This buff activates whenever you spawn in, so even in the event of you respawning, it will reactivate. However, if you attack a wild dino or steal an egg within those 60 seconds, the buff will fail. Beware! Use those 60 seconds wisely to run for cover!
-The maximum amount of Domestic or Tamed levels your dino can achieve is now 120.
-The XP thresholds for your Dinos are now the same as yours, meaning they generally level up quicker, to make up for them always starting at Level 1.

Update: May 30, 2020 @ 3:18pm

Version 3.02
-Fallen survivors now act like supply drops and have a chance of having random loot.

Update: May 29, 2020 @ 3:17pm

Version 3.01
-Fixed dilo parents not defending nests
-Argentavis now follows same logic as other carnivores (increased targeting range, detects corpses from much further away)
-Dimorph now requires 5 allies before they attack and can now target corpses.

Update: May 29, 2020 @ 10:10am

New Version! The Hunted 3.0
The mod design returned to its original goal, to increase immersion in PVE. Surviving is hard and gritty. You should feel like "there is always a bigger fish" out there. Taming will be reworked so that eggs have to be stolen or curious babies passively tamed. Strategic and thoughtful survival will be rewarded. Exploration will be key to discovering necessary resources to move up the food chain.

New Targeting Teams
-Carnivores Medium is now broken into Mean, Fierce, Intelligent, and vanilla, allowing for medium carnivores to defend their territory against one another. Raptors and Terror Birds don't hunt together anymore!
-Carnivores High are now solo hunters and will violently defend their territory from other High Carnivores, including their own kind. You won't see a Rex and a Spino cooperating any longer.

Cautious Herbivores
-Herbivores, like carnivores, now pay attention to what's going on around them. If you get too close, they will either flee or attack, depending on species type.

Natural Targeting Range Extensions
-Most animals now have much higher targeting ranges. They notice you and other animals from much further away.

Dangerous Corpses
-Corpses now last much longer and all carnivores have extended corpse targeting. Hunting is now much more dangerous! You can draw large carnivores to your camp if you're not careful!

Herd and Pack Groups
-Many herd-like animals (e.g. Parasaur) have been reparented to Pack BP. They will generally stay close together and wander around one another. No alpha, no pack roar feature.
-Many bird dinos have been added to "flocks" that also behave like herbivore herds (i.e. wander close together, but do not have pack roars or alphas).

Harvest Health on Corpses Increased
-All corpses now have increased harvest health, meaning they give more realistic meat and hide amounts. If you manage to successfully hunt and kill a parasaur, you may have enough meat to last for days! Beware of carnivores though looking for an easy meal!

Character Survivor Pawn Updates
-Your rate of healing is dramatically slowed. No more Wolverine survivors with insta-healing powers!
-All starting stats cut in half, except speed! This should encourage more diverse and strategic spreading of points gained at Level Ups. You may actually want to invest in Crafting Speed for more than just increasing custom recipes.
-No Stamina Recovery when Dehydrated or Starving; Stamina recovers more slowly now, increasing the need for stimulants!
-Starvation and Dehydration do not kill as quickly, but still a very real threat!
-Survivors now have weight! Implants appear in inventory weighing 150pounds. Increased starting weight allowance. Your weight now matters when riding a dinosaur! You are no longer gravity defying!
-Survivors now have a hidden buff that allows them to get close to some animals that otherwise would flee before you got too close, preventing any attempts to tame them. Equus, hyena, and monkey added to the list of animals you can still get close enough to to try and tame.

Male Survivor Facelift!
-Male survivors are no longer incredibly ugly. They're still a far cry from anything pretty, but at least they aren't painful to look at now.

Added Unique Wild Nests for some dinos!
-Parasaurs, Dodos, Turtles, Lystros, Compys, Iguanodons, Dilos, Oviraptors, Gallimimus, Raptors, Trikes now have wild nests that spawn with fertilized eggs that can be stolen and hatched.
-Nests appear visually and distinctly different between species. Birds have twig nests, dinosaurs mud mound nests, and some reptiles with buried nests.
-Nests will spawn close to parents and approaching the nest will alert nearby parents to your intrusion! Beware!
-Some nests may spawn close together and form "nesting grounds"
-Nests now disappear after 24 hours of being in stasis to prevent clutter

Fertilized Eggs now lose durability much more slowly
-This helps prevent wild fertilized eggs from decaying before you can find them
-For balance to account for the new decay speed, fertilized eggs now "spoil" in 24 hours, so that they disappear when their host nest also disappears
-Most fertilized eggs now spoil into their unfertilized version

Differentiated between Berries
Different berries provide different benefits.
-Narcoberries → Health (0.25) + Torpidity (5) + Food (0.25)
-Tintoberries → Food (1.0) + Water (0.25)
-Mejoberries → Food (1.0) + Water (1.0)
-Amarberries → Food (0.25) + Water (1)
-Azulberries → Food (0.25) + Water (2) + Oxygen - Torbidity
-Stimberries → Stamina (3) + Food (0.25) - Water (-1) - Torbidity (-10)

Wild Babies!
-Most dinos now also have wild babies spawning. Most will flee if approached. Fliers are exempt, as their babies cannot fly, and make too easy of targets.

Kibble Adjustment - Phase I
-All kibbles have higher effective taming rates than meat, berries, veggies, etc. You are no longer limited to using just one kind of kibble on a passive tame (such as curious babies). You can use any kibble, with the higher level of kibbles exponentially more effective at taming the dino.

Meat Adjustment
-All raw and cooked meat weight changed to be 1 pound, instead of 0.1 as in vanilla.
-Meat is now 10x as effective with food and in custom recipes to account for weight increase.
-Meat is not as effective at restoring health as vanilla Ark. Health potions are a must!
-Fish meat restores less hunger than meat, but has increased health benefits and can be eaten raw!

More Dinos Damage Stone!
-Allosaurus, Anklyo, Bronto, Carno, Chalico, Diplo, Dire Bear, Doedicurus, Giganotosaurus, Mammoth, Megalosaurus, Paracer, Rex, Spino, Stego, Therizino, Titanosaur, Trike, Rhino, and Yutry all damage stone structures now! Beware!

Some objects and resources now have static meshes when dropped
-Berries, crops, meats, narcotics, stimulants, now have proper static meshes when dropped from your inventory. No more boxes of meat and berries!

New Resources- Phase I
-Salmon Roe: 50% chance of Salmon dropping with Roe which can be eaten raw, used in custom recipes, or allowed to desiccate (spoil) into raw salt; useful for maps without salt deposits.
-Feathers: Birds now drop feathers, instead of hide. These will eventually be required to craft some items, like arrows.
-Venom: Some venomous or poisonous animals now drop venom, which can be used to craft narcotics now in place of raw meat.

Kairuku & Hesperornis Eggs now Spoil into Organic Polymer
-If you would prefer to take a non-violent route, you may farm kairuku/hesperornis eggs and allow them to spoil into organic polymer.

Shell Fragments
-Now harvested from Turtles, Doedicurus, and Ankylosaurus

Curious Babies Added!
-Direwolf puppies may now be approached and passively tamed. Watch out for momma wolves!

Alpha Version of Dinos Adjusted
-All alpha versions of dinos now move at standard speed for their species and do not team up with carnivores outside of their species class. No more alpha raptors being followed and helped by carnos!

Armor System Reworked
-Cloth, Hide, Silk, Ghillie, Chitin, and Flak armor all reworked. More realistic weights, craft materials, and level requirements implemented.
-Hide is now the first armor to be available.
-All armors now affect how easy or difficult you are to be detected by dinos. Heavier armors increase the targeting distance for animals, making them react to you sooner than if you were wearing nothing
