Update: Sep 22, 2020 @ 6:16pm

Version 3.8.1

Bug Fixes and Tweaks
  • Wild adult carnos no longer spawn in at Level 1.
  • Giganotosaurus spawn amount reduced, particularly on Ragnarok.
  • Greatly decreased Tropeo spawns on the beach.
  • Tropeo's have a greatly reduced target range for humans, making it less likely to get harassed, unless you come across their nesting grounds.

Update: Sep 21, 2020 @ 5:29pm

Version 3.8

More Nests and Curious Babies
  • Carno (44 Votes): Carno nests are found primarily in grasslands. Wild baby carnos are disabled by default.
  • Giganotosaurus (33 Votes): Gigant nests are found primarily in the Redwoods. Wild baby Gigants are disabled by default, as this would make acquiring tribute items too easy.
  • Mantis (31 Votes): Mantis nests will spawn wherever Mantis adults can be found. Hatched eggs will always produce 2 or 3 babies, instead of one.
  • Megalodon (38 Votes): Baby megas can be found in the shallow waters closer to shore, looking for a bite to eat. For now, they use the same passive feeding system. In a future update, a different taming method may be used.
  • Sarcosuchus (33 Votes): Sarco nests are found primarily in swamps or on the shores of large bodies of water. By default, no wild babies will spawn.
  • Tropeognathus (23 Votes): Nests rarely spawn on beaches. Tropeo's should now be seen in the wild with some pack behavior, though it isn't as tight as pteros, to allow for individual exploration and hunting. Although available on the beaches, watch out for mom! She's no joke!
  • Yutyrannus (61 Votes): Yuty nests are rare spawns (about half as common as Rex nests) due to their "special" egg qualifier. They will typically be found in the snow or desert biomes. Wild Baby Yutys will not spawn by default.

Saddle and Implant Support
  • Tier 4: Carno Saddle
  • Tier 5: Mantis, Megalodon, and Sarco Saddles
  • Tier 6: Giganotosaurus, Tropeognathus, and Yutyrannus Saddles

Improved Nests: Harvestable, Destroyable, and AI Behavior Updates
  • Nests can now be interacted with via the action wheel.
  • Many nests have a common and a rare resource which can be harvested from it.
  • Nests can now be destroyed once looted via the action wheel.
  • The nests of some intelligent carnivores will provide a warning that you have entered their nesting grounds, marking you as an intruder, making it next to impossible to avoid detection without proper precautions.
  • Fertilized Eggs will now disappear 24 hours after spawning in if not picked up. This should cut down on the amount of wild eggs on a server at any given time.
  • Wild nests now have a small radius of (anti-)insulation that should prevent eggs from hatching, even during intense heat/cold events on the maps.

Bug Fixes and Tweaks
  • Cocodrupes:
    • Doubled the odds of gathering a cocodrupe seed while picking up rocks on the beach.
    • Cocodrupes can now be harvested off of particular nests that are commonly found on the beach, such as the lystrosaurus, ichthyornis, parasaur, pegomastax, and turtle.
  • Reduce dodo feather plucking time (no longer dependent on health of dodo).
  • Fixed Ichty hunt and seek behavior not working on some maps.
  • Fixed Iguanodon seeding ability with berries not working.
  • Fixed a spawning issue where Terror Bird nests were being replaced by Trike nests on some maps.
  • Adjusted many nesting spawn points for better spread and less "stacked" or overlapping nests.

Update: Sep 3, 2020 @ 11:12am

Version 3.7.2

Bug Fixes and Tweaks
  • Fixed issue where Shagreen could only be used to substitute recipes using polymer instead of organic polymer. For example, ghillie should now be craftable using shagreen in place of organic polymer.
  • Adjusted dodo feather regeneration rate. When plucking feathers, there is a chance you may cause your dodo some small damage now.
  • Fixed several typos in the new radial hunting menu.
  • Spider Silk can no longer be harvested endlessly.
  • Wild baby basilosaurus should now spawn in at the correct level (1 if using default mod settings).
  • Pegomastax skinning options now properly disappear once harvested.

Update: Sep 1, 2020 @ 1:25pm

Version 3.7.1

Bug Fixes and Tweaks
  • Fixed issue with pre-3.7 wool, silk, pelt, and fibers not being recognized as valid crafting resources in the saddle making kit.
  • Fixed issue where a tamed lystro could not be pet.
  • Fixed issue where taming a hyena was not possible post-3.7
  • Added new Config Ini Option:
    • HarvestCorpseMaxTime=900
    • By default, the maximum amount of time it will take to harvest a resource from a corpse, such as hide, keratin, or a tribute item, is 900 seconds. The overwhelming majority of corpses do not take this long, but in some extreme cases, such as with alphas who have an insanely high health amount, could take a survivor who does not invest in their crafting skill a very long time with the original formula. This puts a 900 second safety cap in place, so that no matter how low your crafting skill or how high the animal's health was, it'll never take more than 900 seconds to harvest.
    • By setting this lower, you can limit the amount of time that is required to hold the action wheel while harvesting. For example, setting this to 5 would limit any harvesting action you take via the wheel to no more than 5 seconds, regardless of your crafting skill or the creature's maximum health.
    • If you are playing on a more casual server, I'd recommend drastically lowering this number to no more than 30, as it could frustrate players. If, however, you are playing on a hardcore server that is intended to feel more gritty and realistic that heavily emphasizes smart character builds and teamwork, I'd recommend keeping the default setting.
    • Regardless of your setting, Crafting Skill will still influence the amount of resources you get from an animal, with the exception of tribute items (which are always guaranteed to give one or two depending on the type of tribute).
    • This has no influence on meat harvesting, since that still uses the vanilla system of chop-and-hack.
  • Increased Moth spawn rate in Jungle Biome so that there is greater availability and access to silk, particularly for those who are playing on the Island map.
  • Increased the spawn chances of cocodrupes on the beach, particularly around monkeys. Keep in mind -- you do not need to kill the monkeys! Cocodrupes do not drop in their inventory, but rather, in the actual Ark world, similarly to an egg or poop.
  • Removed the extra brain drop from the Allosaurus death inventory.

  • Parasaur food consumption when drained of stamina reduced slightly.
  • Reduced leed spawns in deep water.

Update: Aug 14, 2020 @ 10:56am

Version 3.6

Implement More Nests and Curious Babies
  • Dire Bear (Polar) - Curious Baby
  • Dire Bear (Standard) - Curious Baby
  • Gigantopithecus - Curious Baby
  • Megalosaurus - Ground Nest
  • Mosasaurus - Curious Baby
  • Terror Bird - Guarded Nest
  • Therizino - Ground Nest

Saddle Implant Support
  • Dire Bear Saddle (Tier V - Exceptional)
  • Megalosaurus Saddle (Tier V - Exceptional)
  • Mosasaurus Saddle + Platform Saddle (Tier VI - Extraordinary)
  • Terror Bird Saddle (Tier III - Regular)
  • Therizino Saddle (Tier VI - Extraordinary)

Significant Dino Changes
  • Piscivore Diet: Those dinos that prefer fish will now automatically consume kibble, raw fish or raw prime fish and their cooked variations only. You can still force feed land-based meat to them, though it does not provide any health recovery benefits. If near a feeding trough, they should only pick up fish and kibble automatically. Unlike in vanilla Ark, cooked variations provide more food than raw forms.
    • Tameable Piscivore Dinos: Baryonyx, Dimetrodon, Diplocaulus, Hesperornis, Ichthyornis, Ichthyosaurus, Kairuku, Manta, Mosasaurus, Otter, and Pteranodon.
  • Carnivore Diet: Those dinos that prefer eating land-based meat will now automatically consume kibble, raw meat, raw prime meat, raw mutton, and their cooked variations only. You can still force feed fish meat to them, though it does not provide any health recovery benefits. If near a feeding trough, they should only pick up land-based meat and kibble automatically now. Unlike in vanilla Ark, cooked variations provide more food than raw forms.
    • Tameable Carnivore Dinos: Archa, Argent, Compy, Dilo, Dimorph, Direwolf, Hyaena, Megalosaurus, Microraptor, Polar Dire Bear, Raptor, Rex, Saber, Terror Bird, Thorny Dragon, Thylacoleo.
  • Omnivore Diet: Dinos that have a plant- and meat-based diet will now automatically consume all food types, including berries, raw and cooked meats, and veggies. Unlike in vanilla Ark, cooked variations of meats provide more food than their raw forms, even for dinos.
    • Tameable Omnivores: Carbonemys, Daeodon, Dire Bear, Gallimimus, Gigantopithecus, Jerboa, Moschops, Oviraptor, Pegomastax, Thylacoleo, and Toad.
  • Herbivore Diet: Dinos that have a plant-based diet will automatically consume all berry and veggie types. Small herbivores (non-mounts) will also consume seeds. Larger herbivores (mounts) will consume straw fodder, a new food item that can be crafted in the player inventory by combining 100 thatch and 100 plant fiber, creating 100 pieces of straw that do not spoil and can be placed in feeding troughs; unlocks at Level 6 for 1 engram point.
    • Tameable Herbivores: Ankylo, Beaver, Chalico, Dodo, Doed, Equus, Gigantopithecus, Iguanodon, Kentro, Lystro, Mammoth, Morellatops, Pachy, Pachyrhino, Parasaur, Phiomia, Procoptodon, Sheep, Stag, Stego, Therizino, and Trike.

Remap Resource Nodes: First Pass
  • Stones picked up from the ground will often give sand as well.
  • Crystals drop raw salt, instead of stone, when struck.
  • Clams drop fish meat and fewer silica pearls.
  • Obsidian rock may rarely drop sulfur when hit with a metal tool.

Remap more Resources and Items to have Static Meshes
  • Remap Wood, Stone, Sand, Metal Ore, Thatch, Pelt, Hide to use Static Meshes, instead of leather boxes, when dropped. No more leather box carnage!
  • Dropped feathers now have a static mesh.

Spawner Adjustments
  • Beach
    • Reintroduced the dilo to the beach. They're just too iconic to not have them on the beaches!
  • Ocean
    • Decreased the likelihood of megalodons, jellies, and basilosaurus spawning in shallow water, although they can still wander closer to shore.
  • Jungle
    • Put stricter NPC limits on each dino type in the jungle. This should cut down on seeing the same kind of dino over and over again in the jungle.
    • Predator numbers limited so that they only account for no more than 15% of spawns.

Bug Fixes and Features Expansions
  • Curbed the skittishness of some baby carnivores to make taming a bit less frustrating.
  • Tamed otters have increased swim speed, so that they can actually catch fish.
  • Otters much more likely to spawn in family groups.
  • Fixed a health buff incorrectly being applied to consumed carrots.
  • Fixed an error where plant fiber could be consumed with no effect.
  • Increased amount of harvestable meat on fish (coel & salmon).
  • Removed level 1 restriction on fish (coel & salmon).
  • Salmon can now be found in the ocean near beaches.
  • Tamed Ankylos now have a third attack (c button) that will let them damage stone structures.
  • Newly hatched Rexes will no longer damage you or other tamed dinos in the tribe. This fix unfortunately won't apply to any Rex hatched prior to Version 3.6.
  • Gallimimus saddle engram restored to saddle kit.
  • Meat and veggie food amount rebalanced, with prime meat pieces particularly useful in restoring food.
  • Corrected issue with deinonychus babies not being able to hold meat in their inventory.

Update: Aug 6, 2020 @ 5:55pm

Version 3.5.5

Significant Dino Changes
  • Dolphin (Ichthyosaurus)
    • Can only be tamed as curious babies, no longer as adults, to keep them consistent with the theme of other Hunted creatures. Babies should truly appear curious, often swimming up directly to humans and hanging out for a time. Adults will also appear curious and approach players playfully, but will not become aggressive. If attacked, they will flee.
    • Wild baby dolphins are much more commonly found in the shallower waters closer to the beach, appearing almost as frequently as adults. In deep water, you are more likely to find pods of adult dolphins instead.
    • Wild dolphins now behave as "pods" and stay close together. It is more common to find dolphins in pods, instead of as lone or paired individuals. In larger pods, they may attack predators pursuing them, such as megalodons and baryonyx.
    • Tamed dolphins now have a sonar ability identical to parasaurs, making them more helpful in ocean exploration. They do not have a frightening roar ability like parasaurs, however. This will only affect newly tamed dolphins. Dolphins tamed prior to 3.5.5 will still be playable, but will not have the sonar ability. If they are bred, they will have offspring that also do not have sonar. Thanks to SGT_Dropbear for the idea!
    • Dolphins are now proper piscivores. While you can feed them meat from land animals, they greatly prefer raw or cooked fish meat. Feeding them land meat of any quality results in less overall food gain, decreases their stamina slightly, and does not improve their health if injured. Feeding them fish meat, on the other hand, results in greater overall food gain, an increase to stamina, and helps improve their health if injured. You can only tame dolphins with fish meat or kibble.

  • Piscivore Diet Changes
    • Baryonyx, Hesperornis, Ichthyornis, Kairuku, Manta, Otter, and Pteranodon are all now also coded as proper piscivores, as described above. These changes should be automatic for established tames. If not, using a cryopod on the tamed dino will reset their feeding preferences.

Bug Fixes
  • Corrected an issue with meat weight calculation.
  • All player buffs and debuffs should now properly deactivate, particularly if switching between the ini options and trying out different playstyles.
  • Corrected an issue where carnivores were sometimes losing health when eating meat.
  • Adjusted Quetzal targeting range. They are now opportunist hunters. They only target corpses (and any one who gets in their way), but spooks easily. Taking damage will usually get them to flee quickly.
  • Jungle bats now spawn less frequently, have reduced targeting range, deal less damage, and are more likely to flee after receiving damage.
  • Corrected an issue that was causing the Saddle Crafting Kit inventory to clear engrams after each server restart.

Update: Aug 5, 2020 @ 12:01pm

Version 3.5.4

Additional Configuration Options
  • SpawnFieldDisruptorTimer=60
    • Allows you to set the timer in seconds of the initial Field Disruptor that makes you invisible to wild dinosaurs when you first spawn in or when you respawn.
    • Setting it to 1 essentially disables the buff.
    • Setting it to 0 will make the buff last forever (not recommended for obvious reasons).
  • EnableVanillaMeatWeight=False
    • All meat while in the player and tamed dino's inventory by default weighs 10x as vanilla meat (1 pound per piece, but provides 10x the amount of food per piece).
    • Setting this to True will disable the modded weight change and revert meat back to vanilla weight (0.1 pound per piece). This does not change the food effectiveness of meat. Even if set to True, meat will continue to provide 10x as much food as vanilla meat. This will likely lead to balancing issues between carnivores and herbivores, as carnivores will be much easier to feed and maintain. Server managers who use this option may want to consider how they want to approach balancing for this.
  • EnableVanillaStaminaRegen=False
    • By default, all players will regain stamina significantly slower. This requires careful and strategic planning, encourages teamwork and the use of mounts, and greatly increases the utility of stimberries and stimulant. It is highly recommended you do not change this setting to get the mod's full effect as designed. However, it was made an option by popular request from the community.
    • By setting this to True, players will regain stamina at vanilla rates. You may need to respawn via bed fast-traveling in order for the change to take effect.
  • EnableVanillaStartingStats=False
    • By default, all players will now start with 50% reduced starting stats in health, stamina, oxygen, food, water, weight, and melee damage, 10% in crafting speed, and 100% in speed.
    • This will affect both new and established characters, although existing characters may need to respawn via bed fast-traveling in order for the buff to take effect, particularly in single-player or non-dedicated servers. A server restart should be enough to trigger the buff otherwise.
    • It is highly recommended that you do not adjust this setting to get the mod's full effect as designed. However, it was made an option by popular request from the community.
    • By setting this to True, players will start the game with unmodified, vanilla starting stats (100 in everything). This also allows you to use the vanilla PlayerBaseStatMultipliers server settings.
    • However, the amount you level up will be double. As an added step, you will also need to add the following multipliers to your GAME.INI in order to level up at the vanilla rates (e.g. +10 health per level, +10% crafting speed). These are vanilla settings, so they must go under [/script/shootergame.shootergamemode], NOT under [TheHunted].[

      PerLevelStatsMultiplier_Player[0]=0.5
      PerLevelStatsMultiplier_Player[1]=0.5
      PerLevelStatsMultiplier_Player[3]=0.5
      PerLevelStatsMultiplier_Player[4]=0.5
      PerLevelStatsMultiplier_Player[5]=0.5
      PerLevelStatsMultiplier_Player[7]=0.5
      PerLevelStatsMultiplier_Player[8]=0.5
      PerLevelStatsMultiplier_Player[11]=0.1

Balancing, Bug Fixes, & Features Expansions
  • Reverted to vanilla starvation mechanic for tamed dinos.
    • Was able to isolate the problem of some herbivores not eating while in stasis. However, dinos will pass out from torpor first long before they starve to death, giving you warning that they're in danger.
    • While starving, health is reduced at a rate of -0.1% instead of -4% like vanilla.
  • Snails now create stackable organic polymer in their inventories again.
  • Fixed the S+ composting bin fertilizer crafting issue (finally!)
  • Vanilla versions of Rex, Raptor, Mantis, and all Megas should no longer spawn on any maps. This should hopefully also correct a number of reported behavior issues, particularly with Rexes attacking one another and not dealing damage. I recommend a wild dino wipe to clear the world of any vanilla versions of these dinos.
  • Increased the overall spawn rates of Ovis in the grassland biome. Get them sheep!
  • Mega Carnos now have a small chance of spawning in the Jungle.
  • Bats less likely to spawn in the Jungle.
  • Adjusted overall nest spawn rates. Mass nesting grounds (multiple nests of the same species) are rarer in all biomes. There should no longer be more nests than adults in a given region!
  • Wild fertilized Rex eggs no longer lose durability due to being outside of temperature ranges. This should guarantee that whenever you come across a Rex nest, there will always be at least one egg in it. Might require further balancing in future patches (such as a limit of only one egg per nest).
  • Raw Prime Meat & Raw Prime Fish Meat doubled spoiling timer to keep in line with recent Ark game patch.
