Version 3.3.3

All Tier I, II, and III Nest Babies also Tameable as Curious Babies
  • In addition to finding them in the wild as eggs, you will be able to tame curious babies passively that were once only available as eggs.
  • For example, you can tame baby dilos, dodos, and raptors if you stumble across them in the wild, in addition to finding nests with eggs in them. This will eventually be rolled out to all babies in the wild.

Finalize Venom System
  • Dinos with torpor inducing attacks have death inventory with venom.
  • Can be used to make narcotics, instead of spoiled meat.
  • Some dinos may produce the venom when tamed and set to wander (e.g. Dilo).

Feature Expansions
  • Mounts are no longer forced to artificially consume food when using stamina. Instead, they only lose hunger when they pause and are regaining stamina (which is more in line how it works with player characters).
  • Non-mountable, utility focused tames (e.g. dodos, but not dilos) now have an increased rate of generic XP gain, which should help level them up without exposing them needlessly to danger.

Bugfixes
  • Reworked how the mod and game calculates a player's starting stats. Now uses a persistent, invisible buff, which should prevent the annoying visual bugs that sometimes happen (e.g. 100/50), as well as correctly allowing mindwipe tonic to be used without creating a loophole in returning to vanilla stats.
  • Increased the taming affinity for advanced crops (e.g. rockarrot, etc.)

Version 3.3.2

Introducing First Custom Config Option!
  • EnableBabyLevelLimit=1 (0 or 1)
    • 0 disables the Level 1 limit for eggs/curious babies, 1 sets all wild fertilized eggs and wild curious babies to Level 1 (default)
    • If disabled on an already established server, I suggest performing a wild dino wipe to start immediately seeing wild eggs and curious babies at random levels (as determined by server difficulty setting).
    • Keep in mind, tamed dinos can still be leveled up 149 times after being tamed.

Feature Expansions
  • Deactivated implants can now often be found in corresponding supply drops, in addition to fallen survivors.
  • Increased the likelihood of fallen survivors spawning, particularly on the beach.
  • Tamed baby dinos no longer eat an astronomically large amount of food. Instead, they eat based on the size they grow (e.g. a baby dodo requires far less food than a baby iguanodon).
  • Stimulant now uses new ingredients (stimberry seeds and charcoal) and can be used while swimming.
  • Narcotic now uses new ingredients (narcoberry seeds and venom) and can be used while swimming, though I'm not sure why you would have any desire to do so…
  • Berries & Veggies now have extended spoil times, making them more useful for leaving on hungry dinos.
  • Seeds from berries now more in line with berries they come from -- seeds no longer give more food than their mother berry!
  • Tiny Herbivores (e.g. Dodos) will now eat seeds, in addition to berries.
  • Tamed dodos will now produce up to 10 feathers in their inventory at a time. This should provide a reliable source of feathers for an upcoming change where arrows will require feathers (not yet implemented).
  • Updated feather resource icon to differentiate between it and Drake Feathers.
  • Tier I and Tier II mounts now gain XP by using stamina. This should make it more feasible to level up mounts that would not do well in combat (e.g. Parasaurs, Gallimimus, etc.).

Bug Fixes
  • Carnivores now actually like mutton again and will eat it. Slightly more effective than raw prime meat at passive taming curious carnivore babies.
  • Amaberries can once again be eaten by herbivores.
  • Removed relevant saddles from the smithy so that they do not show up in both the smithy and the saddle crafting kit.
  • Vultures are no longer hyper aggressive. They primarily target corpses and any players that get in their way. Wild vultures are also cowardly and will flee if any damage is taken.
  • A literal "bug" from the iguanodon nest has been squashed! Thanks to GARY and JollyBloodLust for helping me apply the insecticide!
  • Iguanodon character status bug fixed. Unfortunately, any iguanodons tamed prior to version 3.3.2 will no longer gain XP and their imprinting bonuses may no longer apply, though are still usable in theory. Server admins, please be kind and spawn in new iguanodon tames for those players who will need a replacement and give them my sincerest apologies!
  • Fixed awkward Thylacoleo diagonal movement.
  • Restored most Level Up rates for Survivor Pawns (e.g. leveling up Stamina now increases it by the default amount 10, instead of the modded 20). This can be controlled by server admins in settings anyway. No reason for the mod to make the changes. This may give a visual bug of numbers being off until you level up again, at which point, the visual bug will go away.

Relaunch of Version 3.31

Fixes and Feature Expansions
  • Wild Nest & Egg Lifespans
    • All wild nests now have a 3 hour lifespan if left in stasis and wild fertilized eggs decay at vanilla rates (~15 minutes if left in non-ideal temperature range).
    • This will greatly reduce the likelihood of coming across a nest that has 3+ fertilized eggs in it.
    • This should also eliminate the max taming warning limit some servers have been experiencing, as wild eggs will now only spawn when the nest is unstasised and those eggs will only stay around for about 15 minutes before disappearing. Grab them eggs FAST!
  • Guarded Wild Nests
    • Many wild nests are now more consistently guarded by at least one parent.
    • Some dinos (that would previously run from you as you approached their nest) will now turn and fight if you get too close. Parasaurs, for example, will flee from you unless you (or smaller predators) get close to their nest, where they will instead try to defend their nest and eggs. Watch out! Rampaging parasaur mothers are no joke.
    • If the parent is killed by another wild dino or a player, many nests will respawn a "new" guardian parent after a timed delay.
  • Small Skittish Herbivores
    • Many smaller herbivores, such as dodos, are now skittish even with other larger herbivores.
    • You should no longer see dodos having a party at the foot of brontos without fear of being squashed.
  • Meat & Hide Harvesting - Tool Differentiation
    • Picks are superior at gathering meat and do not gather hide.
    • Hatchets are better balanced and gather meat and some hide.
    • Swords are superior at gathering hide and gather less meat.
    • Metal-tier tools are now vastly superior to stone-tier tools.
  • Introduction of Quill Leather
    • Feathered dinos will now drop Quill Leather in addition to Feathers.
    • Quill Leather can be used in place of Hide in crafting.
  • Egg Benefit Adjustments
    • Initial Pass at readjusting egg benefits. Eggs, particularly small ones, are no longer insta-heal potions in disguise.
    • Larger ones, however, do heal more than smaller ones, and fertilized ones heal double what their unfertilized versions heal.
  • Punching Deals Less Self-Damage
    • Punching dinos and (more importantly) trees to get that precious wood at the start of the game no longer drains your health significantly. This should help prevent having to start the game off injured just to make a stone pick, which is especially difficult with such low health recovery.
  • Remapped Fish Nets & Ocean Wood Platforms for non-Genesis Maps
    • Preserved the Engram Classnames and summon commands for both items for easier server management. No actual, mechanical changes were made to the engrams or items.
Armor System moved to future sub-mod
    • In an effort to quickly squash a bug that is causing some servers and players timeout errors, the armor system has been discontinued in the main mod. Most of the features (different crafting levels, material, etc.) can be adjusted via server settings anyway. We will revisit the system in the future as a potential sub-mod.
    • Server admin, if you are kind, perhaps consider spawning in any armor that your players are now missing and give them my sincerest apologies!
    Reworked Beach Spawner
    • Greater likelihood of actual flocks, herds, and packs, rather than solitary animals showing up. Sauropods removed from Beach spawns entirely.
    • First pass at using spawner entries. I would appreciate any feedback you have before moving on to other spawners I have on my list, such as grasslands, jungle, and desert.

Update: Jun 20, 2020 @ 3:19am

Reverted back to Version 3.3 for stability. For a minority of players, it appears 3.31 was causing a Lost Connection with Host. I believe I have found the issue, but I want to spend more time testing on my end with my own server before uploading the fix. I very much apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and I thank you for your patience!

Update: Jun 15, 2020 @ 10:06am

Version 3.3

Implement Tier III Animal Nests & Curious Babies
  • Beelzebufo Underwater Nest -- Floating stick with eggs
  • Diplocaulus Pond Nest -- Muddy Underwater Nest
  • Hesperornis Reeds Nest -- Floating Reeds Nest
  • Pteranodon Nest -- Nesting Ground
    • Enhanced AI guard behavior -- parents will flee from large predators, but defend their nesting grounds from smaller intruders (humans beware).
  • Thorny Dragon Nest -- Sand Burrow

Implant & Kit Saddle Support
  • Beelzebufo
  • Pteranodon
  • Thorny Dragon

Fixes and Feature Expansions
  • Opening 60 Second Implant Disruption Field now has visual and sound
  • SE Tent no longer decays over time
  • Ichthyornis nest should no longer get stuck in the sky when spawning in
  • Tamed Dinos in Single Player can now reach up to Level 150
  • Modification of Wild Egg Spawn Code
    • Eggs no longer spawn on server starts and restarts. Instead, they will only spawn in on unstasis, which should greatly reduce server clutter and get rid of the warning about too many tamed animals on the Ark!
  • First Pass at Balancing Meat Yields
    • Humans can chop up corpses quicker, but many larger corpses still require a ton of effort and time to fully process. Carnivores much more likely to seek you out when you are chopping up a corpse.
    • Meat yields now dynamically change based on the animal's maximum health. The higher level the animal, the more meat it yields (as well as in addition to overall size).
  • Babies now give much less meat. It will no longer take a Rex 10 minutes to eat a baby phiomia!
