Operation: TREBUCHET


Operation: TREBUCHET (OPTRE) was the last major UNSC offensive against the human insurrection before the first contact with the Covenant empire. Our mod will focus on the struggles of the common soldier rather than the elite spartan warriors, allowing you to experience the Halo universe from a new, brutal perspective. OPTRE is a total modification with the intent to bring the popular Halo Universe into a more realistic setting by introducing it into Arma 3.



OPTRE features a variety of infantry equipment, vehicles and aircraft. To name a few examples:
  • MA5 Assault Rifle Family
  • M52 Body Armor
  • ODST Battle Armor
  • AV-14 Attack VTOL "Hornet"
  • UH-144 "Falcon"
  • GA-TL1 "Longsword"
  • M12 Light Reconnaissance Vehicle "Warthog"
  • M808 Main Battle Tank "Scorpion"
  • LAU-65D Missile Pod
and more...

Why is there only one variant of the ODST helmet now? and why does it feel like otehr content has been removed/changed within the mod? Doesn't feel right anymore...

Units with both primary weapons and pistols default to using their pistols, even outside of close quarters combat. This seems to be due to the pistols having more precision than primary weapons. Optics are irrelevant. The only weapons that don't get de-proritized by the AI are DMRs and sniper rifles, probably because they have maximum accuracy too.
An M6C pistol should be less accurate than an MA5 rifle, but right now it has insane accuracy, so the AI uses pistols all the time instead of their rifles.
