Instead, they triggered a silent Combat Extended inventory loop.
What the desserts caused:
CE recalculated mass/bulk
CE rejected the item as invalid
Pawn tried to drop/pick it repeatedly
Storyteller tick fired
That tick triggered the VEE incident loop
The game froze or stuttered
No error appeared

They caused the worst error to fire, but they didn’t generate their own error.
Interacting with certain dessert items from Vanilla Cooking Expanded (VCE) causes a silent Combat Extended (CE) inventory loop, resulting in stuttering, job freezes, and storyteller tick stalls. No red errors appear in the debug log, but the issue is fully reproducible and tied to VCE dessert items being carried or manipulated by pawns.
