Mechanics are simple and intuitive - keeping within the vanilla spirit without unnecessary fluff and production chains. Colonists will be able to cook up a variety of new meals, make mood-boosting desserts out of fruits, make filling grilled meals that lose the effect when frozen, create large bakes using flour or produce large quantities of soup through boiling ingredients for several days at a time. You can now transform animal milk into cheese inside a cheese press - and it gains quality and value, the longer it’s inside! Yes, alongside Vanilla Factions Expanded - Medieval you can now create a cheese and wine empire! Hopefully this will provide one more reason to keep livestock!

Our systems are heavily moddable and support a variety of mods. With Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids you can now transform insectoid milk into insectoid cheese, and thanks to Sarg Bjornson, you can now utilise 19 (!) types of milk from Alpha Animals, Vanilla Genetics Expanded and Alpha Bees to create your cheese empire!

A new condiment system will allow you to create not-so-filling gourmet meals that apply 12h effects to people who consume them.

Absolutely recommended mods:
- Gastronomy
- Common Sense
- Variety Matters

Mod mechanics:

- Packed Meats will collide due to patching a method controlling meal thoughts

Q: How is this mod different to VGP/RimCuisine2 or other food oriented mods?
A: Beyond following the vanilla art style, this series gives everything a unique blessing and curse. Rather than having 20 nearly indistinguishable vegetable plants or meals we at the team believe every player should find something that is useful. Simply put, we add flavor we believe anybody can enjoy. All things are seamlessly merged with vanilla mechanics, making sure you don’t need to re-educate yourself on how the mod works. We also made sure to cut away any unnecessary resource and production chains, making sure to keep everything simple, yet engaging.

Q: Does it work alongside VGP/RimCuisine2?
A: Yes it does! We provided a patch that changes a few names so all mods can work alongside each other

Q: My gourmet meals are not stacking properly!
A: Gourmet meals stack by ingredients list to avoid condiment abuse

Q: Can I deep fry humans.
A: Yes! That’s the reason we made this mod!

Q: Can I eat canned food like a meal?
A: Yes, but it will not be very filling. Canned goods are made as ingredients that never spoil - they can be used in meal recipes.

Q: At what temperature does grilled meal lose it’s bonus?
A: Below 10ºC

Q: Where are the health conditions? (Cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure)
A: They were very unpopular, so we removed then come 1.4

Q: Will you keep updating the mod with new types of meals?
A: Any additional content will come in the form of extension modules, just like Vanilla Cooking Expanded - Stews!

Q: Is this mod save game compatible?
A: Yes

Q: These condiments/meals/food cooking techniques are totally unrealistic!
A: We need to remember it is a video game, and for the sake of simplicity we decided to abandon realism in some instances. Realism when it comes to cooking is not our primary concern - gameplay is.

Q: CE compatible?
A: Probably!

btw, i'm pretty sure there's issues with food priority. my guys are ignoring all the gourmet meals and going for the lavish meals, and they even tend to choose choose RAW MEAT over deep fried meat.

Your mod is very outdated

I can't make any spices, has anyone encountered the same problem as me?
Big Ol' Bullseye Jul 4 @ 9:29am
Suggestion: when Fine Grills freeze can they just turn into Fine Meals? Pawns never eat Ruined Fine Grills, and they are identical to Fine Meals unless I'm missing something.

Also since, you've also worked on Alpha Animals mod, it seems that products made by the animals and not from the animals (not milk/feathers and else) but fishes, truffles or else of that kind are by default disabled, thus if not observed it time, would dissolve to nothing needlessly, could there be an option to allow such productions automatically when produced in pen/home are, other players drawn areas ?
Daemon Trooper Jul 3 @ 10:38am
Then, everything is right ^^ But I think since they're "kind of" processed food diminishing food poisoinning chances for both and removing the mood debuff for fried, they should be by default priorized over raw food.

Thank you for your time, may I remove my coments then ?

You still have some problems there, as the meals added by this mod work fine with any policies.

Oh wait, canned. Yeah, canned food is not a meal, it is a way to preserve ingredients. Fried foods are a mood boost that need to be manually selected
Daemon Trooper Jul 3 @ 9:15am
What I mean by greatest is what you make of your "Lavish" policy, since you can edit and create your own policies, I didn't want to mention a specific one.

"a pity my pawns don't use them in other contexts when enabled in the policies tab"

This tells me something is wrong there. They are assignable in the drug policies, and consumed like any other drug. I also don't know what the "greatest" meals policies tab is
Daemon Trooper Jul 3 @ 9:09am
I'm sorry if I'm asking something that's already been asked and answered but couldn't find in the closest comment pages and there's no settings ine the mod options linked to this mod.

I cannot understand the usage of some foods. Desserts are automatically used like drugs during feasts/parties/events. Ok, good, a pity my pawns don't use them in other contexts when enabled in the policies tab. But for the others, even if enabled in your "greatest" meals policies tab, pawns will still prefer eating raw food over canned/fried (not cheese apparently -_^).

So, I don't know what I'm doinjg wrong if it's on my part but yeah, I don't really understand the usage of Canned and Fried food if I have to micro-manage their consumption.
