Early Access Review
This is my first time buying a game in Early Access and it surpassed my expectations. Its content is both high-quality and abundant. I haven't come across any glitches or technical problems in the 15 hours I've spent playing so far. The incorporation of a gathering system into a roguelike is an unexpected yet delightful touch. It's unobtrusive and seamlessly integrates with the rapid monster slaying action. New weapons and an upgraded boon system keep the sequel fresh without losing the familiarity of the original. With Supergiant Games at the helm, one can anticipate nothing short of excellence in music, art style, and voice acting, and Hades II certainly lives up to those expectations.
I'm eagerly anticipating the release of version 1.0, where they'll introduce fresh new areas, expand the story line with additional voiced dialogues, introduce new weapons, and add other exciting gameplay features to enhance the overall enjoyment.

Crisp ‘n’ Crazy: The Potatolicious Alien Annihilator
Our titular hero crash lands on an alien planet. He possesses remarkable skills, fearlessly taking on any challenge. Equipped with the ability to wield six weapons simultaneously, our hero fearlessly annihilates hordes of pesky aliens. No time is wasted as players dive right into the action. You choose a starting character and weapon and start fighting hordes of enemies. In a standard sense the goal is to survive 20 waves. You choose rewards after each wave and go back to killing poor aliens who probably were just going by their day until you crash landed there. For those seeking a lengthier challenge, an Endless Wave mode awaits. I enjoyed it but should you buy it? We will have to discuss it more.
The first wave lasts for 20 seconds, the second wave is 25 seconds long, the third wave lasts 30 seconds and so on. Brotato relies on instant gratification rather than satisfaction. The fast paced monster killing increases with geometric progression with each passing wave. After a few hours of game-play you feel a craving has been left unsatisfied like a premature climax. But you are at least satisfied that you got off? The waves conclude swiftly, almost justifying being called ripples. A slower paced but longer lasting waves would feel more rewarding.
Moving on to the pros and cons, I will just list pros and cons in bullet points for people with shorter attention span, who this game seems to have been designed for.
Pros:
● The game offers an excellent option to adjust difficulty, allowing you to fine-tune enemy health, damage, and speed with sliders that move in increments of 5%, providing distinct steps between 25% and 100%.
● Responsive controls and smooth animations make the game-play fluid.
● Energetic music complements the frantic on-screen action exceptionally well.
● There is a good variety of characters, weapons, and abilities that allow for diverse strategies against a range of enemy mobs and bosses.
● The game encourages modding, enhancing the overall enjoyment and replay-ability.
● Shorter waves allow for quick bursts of game-play and accommodate shorter gaming sessions for those pressed for time.
● Accessibility has been given due attention. The game can be played entirely with just the mouse, making it accessible and providing easy and intuitive controls, particularly for players with limited mobility.
Cons:
● Waves end when the timer runs out, even if enemies are still present. It would be better if the timer stopped spawning enemies instead of abruptly ending the wave.
● Visibility becomes a significant issue in later waves. A high contrast mouse cursor with the option to increase size would solve this problem.
Conclusion:
I ponder the reasons behind the game's overwhelmingly positive reviews. Perhaps the widespread acclaim stems from the consensus that it is a promising game, even if it falls short of being a masterpiece. Personally, the game leaves me yearning for a more fulfilling experience. However, considering its price point of ₹159, it offers a decent gaming experience.

I found shooting stuff and liberating outposts the best therapy for anger management.

Good:

1. Story missions are really good
2. You can recruit NPCs that act like co-op partners each with their special set of skills and their backstories are really fleshed out. You can have animal companions too i.e. dog, bear and puma.
3. You can pet your animal companion. You can fish. You can just wander aimlessly on the map and have fun cause the world is drop dead gorgeous.
4. Hunting animals for resources is fun too. But it is mainly for money instead of actual crafting.
5. There are multiple ways to travel which I like so I don’t always have to use fast travel. I like taking the scenic route. There are muscle cars, ATV, armoured trucks, boats, jet ski, planes and helicopters. You can also paraglide if you are feeling adventurous.
6. There is a great weapon variety starting from guns to lock on rocket launchers to bow to shovel shooter. You can find almost every variety of guns in the game and each of them feels very good to use. Shooting feels satisfying, there is good feedback when you fire a bullet and also when it hits the target.

Bad:
1. Ubisoft launcher makes life hell, it stays down a lot, often fails to upload save and sync. And it sucks that you can’t access this single player game without it.
2. The open world is huge and unfortunately much of it is filled with busy work and uninspiring pointless quests.
3. A lot of vehicles drive like boat on wheels.
4. Planes fly well but not well enough that you can use it for dog-fights. Luckily there are NPCs who can fight from planes otherwise you’d be stuck forever on story missions.
5. Difficulty setting doesn’t have much effect outside story missions and the open world is painfully easy.

Verdict:
7.5/10
Buy at a discount because there is already a newer entry to the series with prettier graphics and refined gameplay elements. I enjoyed the game just because I wanted something mindless and relaxing.

Risk of rain 2 is the kind of roguelike where you wanna have just one more quick run before bed but end up playing till dawn.

Visuals:
The art style is easy on the eyes early on, but as the run continues and your screen starts to fill with clutter, the diarrhoea christmas lights at later stages can be seizure inducing.

Story and Setting:
RoR2 doesn’t hold hands and guide you through its story because honestly there is not much story going on here. There is rich lore to explore for people who want to.

Music:
The lo-fi melody perfectly fits the perilous environment and matches the gameplay with synced rhythm and tempo. Sound design is good too.

Gameplay and progression:
Drop into a planet, kill monsters, get money, buy items. Rinse and repeat until you become powerful to one shot God himself. Fast paced with constant running, jumping, sliding and juggling between primary weapon, secondary weapon, abilities and equipment. In each run the difficulty increases over time, which is an innovative approach to deal with difficulty. The roster is filled with unique characters who each have their own gameplay mechanics, making the game feel completely different.
Most items can be obtained by completing specific challenges. You can also unlock game modifiers to make the game easier or more difficult to your liking. The challenges are one-of-a-kind, and the rewards are meaningful enough to keep players interested.

Game time:
There is no limit. It stops being fun when you decide so.

Online:
There is co-op to enjoy with friends and difficulty scales with the number of players. And if you have no friends, rest assured because all achievements are attainable through single player.

Bugs:
No bugs or technical issues.

PC Requirement:
Without a decently powerful PC the game faces severe lags and occasional crashes in long runs where you loop multiple times and a million things are happening in the background. Lowering graphical settings can help to an extent.

DLC:
Survivors of the Void DLC adds excellent new characters, stages, items, enemies and alternate endings.

Price:
Worth every penny.

My only problem with the game is it doesn’t have a save system. Once you start a run, you will have to see it through to the end. I want to be able to stop at any stage and continue from there later on. I don’t always have hours required to do multiple loops in one sitting. Although there is a mod for saving, I would love a native option.

Rating:
The Devs are continuously supporting and updating the game which is commendable. The community is very active and you can add tons of community made mods to breathe new life into your game.
I highly recommend it. 10/10

You can fight mythical heroes, monsters and gods. You can also date them. Nice underworld. 10/10 would escape again.

In a horde of mediocre shooters, Doom stands out by not forcing players to hide behind $h1t the entire game like a lil βitçh
Ever since the inception of video games, developers have pursued hundreds of technological innovations to avert gamers’ attention away from fun. Doom has no need for these distractions, cause it is fun. It’s fun as hell.

The Empress’s Bodyguard
I did not like the game until I started playing. I mean I was not interested in the game at all but following a friend’s advice I gave it a try and I absolutely love it now. The game is set in a plague ridden retro futuristic island city of Dunwall with exquisite architecture which captured my attention at once. The gameplay mechanics might feel clunky in 2021 but the graphics I think are alright. The game world looks like a classical painting and I love the steampunk aesthetic and technology of the world which looks like 17trh century London. I would like to highlight some features below.
Gameplay and Level design:
You play as a dishonored bodyguard Corvo Attano who is granted supernatural abilities by a deity known as The Outsider . Although being linear in progression the game does not force a laid out path for you to follow. It gives you the tools and lets you play with them however you want. You get and upgrade superpowers by collecting runes and charms. You can be a stealthy assassin lurking in the shadows to fulfill objectives without alerting a single soul or you can be the god of death liberating everyone from the cruel life. These actions bear consequences, which I love.
The game has autosave but you are encouraged to save frequently. It becomes a necessity if you are attempting to finish the game without alerting anyone.
The levels are intricate puzzles with excellent verticality and offer a myriad of paths to take. You can teleport from rooftops to rooftops or crawl inside a sewer to get access into the mission area. Every path is fun.
Music:
Wonderfully captures the vibe and builds the atmosphere.
Length and Replayability:
If you are looking at a single playthrough in the base game, it is painfully short at under 15 hours. But it is actually one of the best things about it. The game has outstanding replayability which would not be attractive with a lengthy runtime. At least 2 playthroughs are encouraged to fully explore the world of Dishonored.
DLCs:
There are 3 major expansions:
  1. The Knife of Dunwall:
Tells the story of Master Assassin Daud who set off the game by killing the Empress. It takes place somewhat parallel to the main game. You get to explore new areas of the city and get some different abilities to play with. Very Good.
  2. The Brigmore Witches:
Continues the story of Daud from previous DLC and introduces again new locations and a spooky atmosphere where you go about killing witches. They managed to cram a fetch quest in here but I will give it a pass. The ending when tied with the base game makes the DLC a must play.
  3. Dunwall City Trials:
Absolutely infuriating. For hardcore fans only. You can try it if you want to keep playing the game long after finishing the stories. The achievements are nigh impossible to get because the success here is not based on skills alone, you will need lady luck on your side.
Price and buying recommendation:
Money well spent but seeing it’s an old game I recommend getting it during sales.

9/10
