TL;DR: Fun and very addicting game with the most toxic community in the gaming world imo. IF you have a life that you enjoy do not buy this. If you have little to no life and you're not one to rage or get mad,(Rust will change that) this game is for you.

Rust is one of those games you have to sink your life into. It can be really really fun, or it can be your absolute worst nightmare. There is a lot to learn about this game, and much like other games, the only way to learn and to get better is to play play play. The community is the most toxic bunch I have EVER seen or experienced. Despite the recommended specifications, if you don't have a decently specd PC, don't expect to run this game at max or even high-medium settings. It's laggy, choppy, frame drops are a constant thing, server lag is always there (especially on 200+ servers) Even wtih my PC (8700k 1080 16gb RAM) I still encounter issues.

The gameplay itself is can be quite fun and very very addicting. FAIR WARNING RUST IS VERY ADDICTING AND COULD QUITE POSSIBLY TAKE YOUR LIFE AWAY! The building is fun and very easy to learn but difficult to master in terms of your building designs. Raiding is a major part of Rust, so if a game where all you do is grind grind grind for a few days just for it to be taken by a large number of 13 year olds screaming into their mics or playing Fortunate Son while taking all your loot you worked so very hard for isn't your cup of tea, Rust isn't for you. The weapons in this game all have a pre-determined recoil pattern, as in the recoil and spray will be almost the same every single time you shoot, so you have to memorize the patterns to be accurate (much like CSGO).

With all of this said, the developers are constantly updating the game and implementing new and exciting features the first Thursday of every month. Also, playing solo in this game is guaranteed to give you a hard time and possibly a broken monitor. You have to play in a group to achieve anything. So if no-lifing a game for an entire week just for it to be wiped every Thursday and you starting all over from scratch is your thing, then I urge you to buy this. However, if you have a life or kids or a job I strongly recommend you do not buy this.
