7 Days to Die for me is more of a base building game than anything else (i love to build bases)
So my review might not be for everyone as i might look at the game abit different.
Sorry for the long wall of text.


Exploration - Scavenging

It got a good amount of different POIs (Point of Interest) to explore and scavange so your first hours of gameplay will not be boring or repetitive.
There are different biomes wich has its perks and hazards. I do believe (correct me if im wrong) that all the places to explore is not region locked so you can find any type of building in any type of biome.
There are a good amount of items to scavenge in 7Days, from nails to weapons to medicine to keep you alive. There is a progression when looting so in the beginning you wont find all the good items in a high quality. That way you dont get too overpowered too fast.
Vehicles? Yes! Different types of vehicles to either buy or craft. Im not gonna spoil what you can get tho! Getting your first vehicle is always a nice feeling and makes everything go faster.


Crafting

There is a wide variety of items to craft. The crafting menu is decent to use but you mostly just write what you need as scrolling through all the items might take some time. There is different sections for different types of items so its easier to find what you need but most of the time you just search for what you need.
For heavy crafting players it might not seem that its alot of different weapons and armors you can make but it is enough and the progression to the next tier is pretty balanced out.


Building

So to the part i love :)
I love the building in this game, there is a wide variety of blocks you can use to come up with crazy base designs to fend of the hordes of zombies. You have railings to walk on so you can shoot down. You can make chutes to throw grenades down or maybe you just want a pit around your base with spikes, dart traps, electric fences or blades of death. There is alwaus something new to build.


Solo - COOP - PVP

If you are playing solo you will have a good time in 7Days but playing it with friends is so much more fun. Go out on trips hunting down zombies and scavenging is always more fun when you can die together. I have never tried to play PVP in this game and im not sure how good that are but some people might enjoy it. There are public server for both PVE and PVP so choose on of your liking or make your own.


Skills

You have different type of skills like strength, agility, intelligence etc where you can put points in. Those are the "main" skills. Under all of those main skills there are several different skills to get. You can get more damage to blocks and yielding more ressources when breaking them, more damage with spesific weapons, cooking skills, crafting skills and many more to choose your path.


World types

When making a game you can use one of their premade maps or you can make a random generated map. I do not like to play on any of the premade maps because i dont like to know where everything are when i create a new world. For people playing it the first time the premade maps are good to use. There are less wierd road paths and not wierd buildings 50 meters down the ground. For someone like me who has spent a segnificant amount of time in this game i love to explore a fresh world where i dont know anything of.


Combat

Now this one.. The combat system is not the best. (this is my opinion so please dont hate) The range of when zombies are attacking and from the visuals you see dosent always add up. Sometimes the zombies have abit longer range than what you see and they can hit you but that is only one of the few things that i dislike about this game. Fighting with both fists or grenades is all fun, there is a wide arsenal of weapons to use against the zombies wich makes the game much better than your average "open world survival craft building game".
You have alot of modifications you can put on your weapon to make it much better durable.


Survival

There are alot of things that can hurt you and give you "debuffs". All from a broken leg to puking. In the beggining and for new players the survival aspect of the game is pretty good. You have to work to get enough food, water and medicine to survive until you've been able to stock upp on ressources.
Now the survival aspect in the end game and for players with several hundreds of hours its not that challenging. You know where to go to get what you need and its not alot of trouble but it might be abit hard in the beginning depending on the difficulty.


Terraforming

I love to be able to terraform when building bases. In some cases it help so much that my bases goes from crap to good. The terraforming might not be the best there is but its more than good enough to do what you want. There is also physics in place so stuff dosent keep being stuck in the air. (be aware when mining, you might die from the ceiling collapsing. yes ive died multiple times to this)


Quests

Well, to put it simple... Its not balanced. That is my opinion, some might like it but it just are too good to be there. You get too much money and usefull ressources too fast from the quests. Wich then makes you able to buy stuff to make the game way easier. The quests are nice and adds variety to the game but after you cracked the code it becomes abit too good.


Optimization

It run decent on not that good systems but there are some issues. One for an instance is all the foilage. It does reduce some of your frames by the share amount of it. The water can sometimes make your game lag if its "tampered" with alot.
For me there is only one big issue about this game and its optimization. That is the lag you will get when you have on max zombies on horde nights. It will lag ALOT. I have been able to dip belove 1 fps when playing with friends on max zombies. It is a big issue for some players but to fix it you just simple turn down the amount.
I do really hope they get some optimization patch out in the future that will help against the lag with alot of zombies but i played the game for so long that i simply dont care about the low frames.


Yet again im sorry for the long text. But overall its a great game i would recommend to anyone who wants some fun. There is some issues here and there but they are outweight by all the fun you can have in the game. 10/10 would die against vultures after 1 minute again.
