I can't play this game anymore. Not because I have some physical, moral, or technological barrier, but because I know... I know what to do, and how, and why, and when, and... I've done it.

If you were to pick up this game and start fresh and blind, it may reasonably take you about 20 hours (+10 for the DLC) to complete the game. But if I were to pick it up with that same fresh save, I would be able to finish it in about 25 minutes. Now, that's not because I'm some god gamer, or a speedrunner or anything, but simply because I know what to do and how to do it.

The end is right there, staring you in the face the entire time! But you don't know what it is, or where, or why, or how... you'll just have to find it. There's no objectives laid out for you, no markers to tell you where you must go next, nothing to hold your hand; there is simply your own sense of exploration and where you go next is entirely up to you.

Want to go look at that strange planet? Sure! Saw some interesting structure on a different planet? Better go check it out!

You'll spend your time in this game learning and adapting on the fly, understanding the what, the how, the why, the when...all the way to the end, and then there's no turning back...

If there was a game that I could rip from my memory just so I could experience it for the first time once more, this would be at the top of my list.

This game is FLAWLESS! From the story, to the gameplay, to the incredible voice acting, to the lovely soundtrack, to the sheer amount of agency that is given to the player. You could be a total "Goody two-shoes" or become the most wretched thing to walk the earth and everything in-between as you wish! I've never come across a game that gives you so many different choices on how to approach even the simplest of quests. EVERY. CHOICE. MATTERS!

There's a reason it won practically every Game of the Year award in 2023
