As an avid Death Stranding fan, I knew this game was for me, when I saw the backpack rigs on screenshots and gameplay trailers.

Entered for the backpacks, remained for the water!

I saw other reviews mention FOMO etc... Sounded discouraging.

In reality, you can collect water for up to 55 real life days, without any upgrades whatsoever.
So, if you play one or two long sessions every ~50 days, you are fine and don't need to worry about it.
The worst case is only losing all equipment and upgrades. You don't lose any experience/progress.
When you are so experienced, that you had so much loot to lose to begin with, you will be able to re-collect it within a reasonable amount of time. Therefore, the offline water mechanic really does not seem that bad at all, as portrayed by some other disappointed players in the review section.

The ambience and atmosphere really pulls you in right from the beginning. It's incredible, how immersive this game is, even in this early access stage, where surely a lot of things are still janky and buggy, as expected.

Everything in this game breathes this post-apocalyptic dystopia. No matter where you look, what you do, what your goal is. You really feel, like you are just one guy in the midst of the world going under.

Speaking of "just one guy", the game concept is pretty genius, if you ask me. You are not some super strong Space Marine or Navy Seal or whatever. You are just some guy, who tries to survive, trying to not get one shot by the actual soldiers, that battle each other, whenever you enter one of the maps.

If you like games like Death Stranding, Generation Zero and zombie shooters, definitely give this one a try.

Huge bonus is the original soundtrack. Amazing music, really worth listening to, even outside the game. It really underlines the ambience, which the game succeeds in delivering.
