An intricate, unpredictable network marked by sustained disarray

The server goals are to Build Community, Have Fun and Discuss what we learn about Game Theory along the way.

We acknowledge that this school server will be different from other community servers. It will also be different from single-player play. Here are some guidelines to get us started.

Share resources: This game has limited resources that float by in the water and it is tempting to grab everything for ourselves and keep the best stuff. The point of this server is to share everything, make sure everyone has enough to eat and build the community sections before building our own private spaces.

Cooperate: In Raft, you will need to rescue your raftmates when they are incapacitated. This is the element of the game that the group ranked at the top when we beta-tested this server idea.

No PvP: When someone is in need, help them. Friendly fire will be turned off and competition will be discouraged.

Be together, rather than first: Jumping ahead to an island or being the first to have a metal hook should be less important than making sure everyone has an opportunity to explore islands, and gather resources (on land, in the water and on the sea floor next to islands).

We will continue to clarify these guidelines as we play. We will be figuring out how to play together as we go.
