Video of how to play the Inca.
This will tell you what to expect out of the special units, what to expect out of the playstyle, and what victory conditions to expect to dominate with.

Victory Conditions
Hello, if you really didn't want to watch the video I'll give a quick rundown of what you probably should be thinking if you are randomly paired up with the Incas or are just new to Civilization and think they would be fun to play!

Victory Conditions

  • Domination
Most of the victory conditions as the Incas are based upon personal preference - as they do not have a "distinct" personality trait that grants them an edge up on another Civilization. Reason I would recommend Domination though, is due to the fact you'll produce more so than other Civilizations. You'll have no maintenance on hill terrain either and your start bias will be based in hilly spots. The archer unit will help in conquering early on but best part of Domination with the Incas is the sheer amount of extra production you should be getting thus creating more military/etc. Recommended.

  • Science
Considering you'll be generating a fairly large amount of production - you'll be able to build the scientific buildings quickly. I'd recommend expanding for this victory condition as you'll have more cities to make more scientific buildings for. Plus, if you are lucky, you could grab some additional luxury resources to hopefully deter your unfriendly AI players. Nonetheless, the premises of the Incas is based upon production. Recommended.

  • Diplomatic
The Incas do not have a personality trait that directly helps with a Diplomatic Victory. The only benefit is the fact that you can build things quickly. The best solution in winning City-State alliances is by building/finding/etc. whatever quest they are offering. Other than that you'll have to do the traditional bribes to gain their alliance. There isn't much for the Incas in this category. Not Recommended.

  • Culture
The Incas do not have a personality trait that directly helps with a Cultural Victory either. The extra production is nice for attempting a cultural victory considering you'll build Wonders quicker than most Civilizations. Based upon my playstyle I've always felt as if the Incas are built to expand rather than stay caged in. A Civilization that has the ability to obtain more production based upon hill tiles screams for expansion, or at least to me. Not Recommended.
Social Policies
Won't get into as depth as the Victory Conditions only because Social Policies can usually go anyway for any Civ and still win. Will only note those that are very important to each Civ.
  • Liberty
Liberty is best with Civilizations that are calling for expansionism. The Incas are a good Civilization to put that to the test. You'll want to expand to areas that have hilly spots and luxury resources. Liberty will help generate a worker/settler to cultivate the land faster than if you do not choose the Social Policy. To top it all off, you'll obtain a Great Person at the end of the Social Policy track to help with whatever you are striving for!
The rest are really up to you on how you're playstyle will be for policies, Tradition for hunkering down with few cities - Honor for cutting down enemies early on - Liberty for expanding like a mad-man but again, that goes for any Civ, not just the Incas.
Factoids
  • The Inca used a system of knotted and dyed strings to store accounting information.

  • The Incas believed the coca plant was both sacred and magical, and its leaves were used in numerous religious rituals.

  • The highest permanent Incan settlement found so far is located at roughly 17,400 ft above sea level.

Depends on what your looking to do as in terms of victory.

Domination - Great General/Great Engineer/Great Scientist
Science - Great Engineer/Great Scientist
Cultural - Great Artist/Great Prophet
Diplomatic - Very situational but almost all but Great General fit the bill

what would be the best great person to get after filling out liberty?

Though I've never played the Inca, I'd think a science victory would be more likely than domination, since you can expand greatly, then make trade routes between all of them (Roads would be extremely cheap due to the special attribute). Then by choosing the Messenger of The Gods belief for your Pantheon, you could have +2 science be city. And assuming you have 10 cities (though I'd think you'd have more than that), that's plus 20 science right there. Might not be just enough for science victory, but it could drastically help, especially early on.

No problem, and yes I will be. I'm going to pre-order the game in a couple of days so that way I'll be on top of things. Anyhow, I'll also be releasing explinations on some of the various changes that will take place in Civ with that expansion considering there will be new policy trees/etc. and I'll update the other Civilizations accordingly if they are that major.

Anyhow, thanks for checking out my stuff and I look forward to the expansion!
