a calm and relaxing experience. kick back put your headset on and use your controller to wander through the forests. for me it took 6.6 hours. but I replayed it a bit. it's a nice and short experience. stretching it to include more hours would degrade the perfection.

I don't know why I haven't written a review yet, but here it comes.

If you haven't played undertale yet you're missing out. the Fandom has calmed down since it's initial nuclear wasteland toxicity levels. and the game is genuinly great, if not a masterpiece. I had the luxuary of living beneath a rock mostly, so when I bought undertale in April 2020. the story had not been spoiled to me, in fact I had only heard that it was a great game, before I picked it up.

And that leads me to the one very bad part about the game, once you played the game. maybe even done all the different endings, spoiler there are 3 main endings . or maybe even cheated and watched 1 or more endings off of youtube. there's not a lot of replayability in the game. as such any spoilers ruin the game in a major way. and all I can say about it, is that I wish I could forget about it all. so I could play it spoiler free again. It's one of the only game to properly pull on my heart strings and make me care for the characters and their fates. instead of generic shooter 2018 which you can shoot everyone and not care the least about them.

the game is not that long, as you can see in my hours played. and even then I did some shenagigans after I completed what my sanity could bear. but it is one of the best ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ games you will ever play. I still ocassionally listen to the soundtrack as well, it complements the game's greatness to a very large extent. and although some tracks you've probably heard in memes cough, megalovania, cough. It and other tracks are sued because they're simply so great.

If you haven't played it yet, what are you waiting for? looking for spoilers in reviews? they will only ruin your experience.

I have played this for a bit over 18 hours now. what have I been doing not playing this before?
it's just like that I only recently played underttale as well during summer, seems like I'm a bit behind.
anyways, this game, a hat in time is comparable in being at least close to a masterpiece. the music the graphics, most of the time the level design, because sometimes the level design is a bit confusing at first on certain levels.
final verdict, I wish I could forget it all to play it again without spoilers.

(I will only be discussing my experiences with single player)

you might look at my playtime and think I'm a hypocrite for not recommending the game. but here's the thing. this game is fun in the beginning like every other game, getting to know the mechanics and going through the struggle to victory. when you look back though you start to see how basic the gameplay of this game is. you can start in a tough spot, but in the end what the "strategy" boils down to in this game is deciding what country to destroy first and not to use limited forces in a dumb way by attacking through a mountainrange, but even then the mountains barely matter to a major force.

the AI is very dumb despite the game being very simplified, people I have talked to makes it a point to break through the maginot as Germany just because they can and because going through Belgium removes any challenge.

Through mods you can even start as a country with only 500 people in it and still lead it to victory without any modded extra mechanics, because there are many cheesy mechanics you can use to win. 7 dudes dropping into Paris with broken rifles being an infamous meme, although they kinda patched that, now you need 2 or so other French cities as well.

that brings me to the dlc policy, oh boy. if you check my profile you will notice I have 2 of them. I wish I could refund them. the dlcs are not worth the money. the core issue I have with the game is the core mechanics, but the dlcs only add on small mechanics. the largest beef I have with the dlcs is that some mechanics are practically held hostage behind a 20$ price tag. for example behind the together for victory dlc is the blitz order. in a game centered in a time of armored spearheads destroying the Belgian and French interior you have to pay an additional 20$ for the game to let you plan such an operation. there are multiple more such essential and sadistic placements of mechanics in dlcs at least one in all of them except death or dishonor which only adds focus trees. the dlc might be easier to swallow if you have played from launch and 20$ once a year is not anything to make a fuss over for a long experience game. modders from mods like Equestria at War (mlp themed), Old world blues (fallout themed) and kaiserreich (alternative history) do much better jobs then paradox for free, but these total overhaul mods are kinda locked behind the dlcs as well due to you kinda needing mechanics such as the naval rework from man the guns.

let me just finish with why I became bored and disinterested in this game. let me boil down the game play to you. even though you can start in a country with basically nothing and a major like the Germans this is basically the gameplay. if you're a minor to begin with you will need to become stronger through conquest early on through fair or exploits but there comes a point even with la resistance changes to non core resistance once you hit it you're unbeatable if you're even fairly competent you might as well restart because any possible fun is only in getting to that point. every game plays mostly the same regardless of resources and location, proven to be satisfactory in my mind by my friend who released a modded country containing 500 population being able to relatively easily conquer the globe. there's no war fatigue either, you can be at war forever without any consequence.

the only real thing that changes by different countries is starting location and how long the game will be. the AI is dumb as rocks although not as dumb as it used to be though, the UK will let you through and take the Isles if you just skip the Channel due to them being unable to manage fuel. Germany which historically had no fuel at all suffers little from fuel shortages and by the time they might, you've already made it to the caucuses because the Soviets are a push over due to the devs wanting to instead of modeling the Soviets like a juggernaut like they turned into wanted an incentive for the UK to get off their island and D-day.

you know what the saddest part of this game is? I just came back to it yesterday because I discovered it had controller support and wanted to test my controller. in about 3 hours in the afternoon I've completed the main story once again. or at least the 3 hour picture is what steam tells me is my current recent amount of hours. It's just sad that it ended. although the free mod portal stories : mel can partially fill that void it can never fill it entirely.

I'm gonna take the same stance as many other reviewers. a neat little mod to play with different mechanics but it far from worth even 1 €. Don't take this the wrong way modders deserve a way to earn a little something for their work, but this is not polished or long enough to justify a price tag. I took a bit over 4 hours to complete this game/mod. There is already a better mod for portal, it's like a completely new game and it's free, I wouldn't mind if they charged for Portal stories: Mel though. unless aperture tag is on a steep sale or you just want all prtal games, you'd be better off skipping this one.

Unless you're playing to do a youtube review or something replaying this mod isn't really an appealing choice either

Do not buy this game. It has reached a point where it just milks more and more money out of you for useless content. well it's useful. but what would you rather have? 40$ in hand or a flying motorbike in gta?

Another thing is that Sucks with the game is that both Rockstar and Take 2 (publisher/R* owner) has time and time again been proved to be VERY lazy with content and straight up anti consumer. "oh you wanted a veichle all along? well have a ♥♥♥♥ car with a ♥♥♥♥ gun".

Point two of lazyness and anti consumer. Open-IV a program that came into existanceat the time of GTA 4 as a tool for modding singleplayer content in GTA 5 it has since been modified to work on GTA 5 and Max Payne 3. Take 2 saw that Open IV which is the primary modding tool of GTA 5 which had been around since GTA 4 were cutting into their profits through making it so people could have more fun in singleplayer, mods based in open IV has been publicy promoted by rockstar btw. Take 2 saw that and didn't llike that so they sent a Cease and desist to the devs to kill open IV, They argued that open IV could be used to mod multiplayer despite it hindering you from doing so. TLDR: Take 2 took down a modding tool which was used be everyone to mod their offline game, controversy they let it go.

If you just want to play it I'm not going to stop you but GTA5 isn't worth even 30$ anymore, you're essentially buying a mobile game (online mode) with plenty of rip off microtransactions which just happens to have a story mode attached. The story mode (offline) is definitely worth something more then a mobile game, but the online mode is an endless grind unless you buy a shark (scam) card. seriously 100$ for 8 million in game, and you barely get anything for it. If you only want to play the Story mode which I add is really good, just pirate it. no extra content has been released for the story mode since the Ill gotten gains update in 2015, so most likely wherever you torrent it you will get the full experience.

this is a game you play with a friend, it is almost impossible to find a match even if you are a daddy, do not buy this game if you are not planning to play with a friend, because if you want to play you will have to wait forever, and when you think you got a match you get stuck in a cutscene with the same music as always, showing the house. 0/100 gonna refund
